Simple quality of life change for the boards

Why is it that the boards automatically default to ancient articles whenever you search something? When I type in a simple term like "split push", I get Riot posts about the Summer Split from four years ago. I'm pretty certain that almost anyone searching "split push" in the present day is not looking for a news update on the pro-scene from 4 years ago. As a consequence, searching for topics on the boards always requires extra steps, with unhelpful results consistently topping the page.

I think a simple, elegant solution would be to adjust the search algorithm so that results default to "1 month", or at the very least "this year". This seems like a no-brainer, but I can't remember any time in 5 years of playing league that I haven't had to shove past old posts from 3-5 years ago just to find something from the current year, much less the current patch.

@riot, is what I'm asking for unreasonable?
