Are silver players worse than bronze players?

I just recently made it into Silver and I'm honestly shocked by a lot of the players I'm encountering. A lot more games seem to go 20-3 kill-wise, which I can understand. After all, some Silvers should be gold and others should be bronze. But the ingame behavior is so much worse than anything I've seen from bronze in years. Players go from zero to more-tilted-than-Don-Quixote in the first 5 minutes of the game. I used to rarely see players explicitly intentionally feeding; stating in chat that they are intentionally feeding. I've already gotten demoted and had to climb back up to silver because I had three straight games where an ally got mad and literally ran it down mid.

Does anyone have suggestions for how to win when an ally is trying to lose? I don't want to get demoted again but it's starting to seem like its beyond my control. I already mute toxics and encourage any flamed allies to do the same. Thoughts?

It depends on the silver player in question to be honest. Some of them worked hard to improve their game and were able to climb the ranks with their skill and luck. On the other hand, I'm sure just as many (give or take a few percent) got lucky, and were carried all the way to silver without having to learn a damned thing. The higher the rank is, the more each player has to hold their weight in order for their team to win. By the time you get to plat, each player should have a similar skill level.

This is also why bronze is considered "elo hell." It consists of players consisting of half-decent, bad, crap, uber crap, and bottom of the barrel. And since they're all the same rank, there is no sorting them out to make a fair match.

don't expect improvements until diamond, hell there are even players in diamond that belong in iron [slayer-jinx-unamused]

In Silver just play jungle and climb, if you watch like two guides from challenger players on their main champ (like Tarzaned on Xin Zhao) and you put that into practice, then you should do well

I say that because jungle players in Silver normally don't invade or check summoners, play champs that are too hard for them... idk they're just autolose players for the most part

I think it's because the low elo playerbase hasn't really got to grips with the jungle xp and scuttle changes yet, so ye

I'd say play a jungler with damage, a dash and cc:

XinZhao Vi Camille Hecarim

All are pretty easy to pick up, and they'll all have really good recent guides on them

Also, a good chunk of bronze consists of players that aren't even reliable players. It isn't uncommon to see a bronze player lose connection, lag so much that they can't even see what happens, or act out of spite and either ragequit or throw. I was a victim to this. One failed gank caused my mid to quit, and my ADC to follow suit. When it cost me a rank, I wrote to riot support and the boards. Both told me to go fuck myself, so I became a detractor.

You were able to carry in Bronze more, so you paid attention to people's behavior less.

Furthermore, Silver is glutted with smurfs, as well as the general old hardstuck populace who play ranked just to troll everyone else and "have fun."

It's also where the vast majority of placement unranked players end up or close to, after placements climb them through Iron/most of Bronze.

Silver players are a lot better than Bronze players, it only seems like Silvers are worse because they are a lot harder to carry owing to higher skill on the enemy team relative to you. Also, because they are better, they can abuse leads much more consistently which is why games are far more lopsided in Silver than they are in Bronze.

In Bronze, someone dying in lane twice doesn't mean shit but in Silver you can expect a 2-0 lead to turn into someone going 18-3 by the end of the game.

This gets even more extreme in Gold to the point you can pretty much be sure of the outcome of a game base on which team is winning by 10 minutes.

Bronze players don't know anything about anything which is why you can pretty much do whatever you want and still win. But this shit won't cut it from mid Silver and up.

Personally to help me from not tilting as much is that I have /all chat off. It's bad enough when a team member goes off at another for their own fault, and/or personally the one getting yelled at is just doing bad. I don't need and outside source to add onto that. As to add onto that, I really don't talk to my team much because adding to the situation just makes them int/tilt/flame even more. Encourage them to not give up, and play passively to gain their cool. A good, gj/nj/ty for the gank/assist, seems to have kept most of my team match ups spirits high. Yes it doesn't seem to do much, but letting that positive out put from you can make a little difference. Though I strongly suggest you report the toxic people.

I guess as some suggestions to making a difference. I've not looked at your account to know what lane you play, but for the most part pings are a good start to try to get someone to not tunnel vision during the game. Vision, vision, vision! Mini-map awareness is good. Know what it means to collapse. It annoys to see people not doing it enough when in low ranks you should at least "try" to make an attempt at this. As a support, I guess if you know what hyper carry means, learn that since most ADC's are struggling in Bronze and Silver. It's not the best suggestion, but a strong support that just isn't a support has made my climb, this year, a better experience.

Also pick a champ that you know, or at that you know that can handle most of the enemy's team. I strongly don't suggest playing a champion that you don't know how to play or don't have much experience with. Go play normal games instead of ranked for that. As support perspective: Lux is good, but some times you might need to pick a good tank like Leona or Naut.
ADC perspective: Caitlyn is good for those that need to feel comfortable auto attacking a further range for CS and those possible annoying Supports.

As for ADC, my go-to's are based on the enemy's team engagements. Knowing disengage is just as good and engaging them. Just because you're fed, doesn't mean their team cannot put your in your place for you being cocky. Know that Mortal Reminder is good against people like Olaf and Mundo, and Lord Dominik's Regards is geared healthy armored tanks.

Look at item builds. Maybe there is something you can get that they have that might give you insight on how they're getting you killed too fast. You might need some armor to cool some of the dmg from the ADC, or MR/QSS from Zoe landing stupid long Q's or E's through walls.

(I know this is more about support and adc, but suggestions in seeing on how my choices are made should give you a clue on how you should look at your position in game)

Hopefully this might help you.
