"Logged in to upvote/downvote" And Other Similar Replies

As long as the voting system exists, these replies are simply spam and just take up space in the comments where actual discussion could be happening. I think it's fine if you want to write out an actual compliment with some meat to a person, but only saying that you upvoted a post is literally providing no other information to the poster other than it was you who upvoted him or her, and I don't think that should be enough for a reply to be considered worthwhile discussion. Same principle with saying that you downvoted a person.

Would it be reasonable and feasible to remove these replies under the justification of one of these Universal Rules?

This is just my 2 cents, but these kinds of comments happen almost exclusively in announcement posts separate from the boards, where they disappear very fast and are hardly disruptive. Those, I think aren't an issue at all (and it's kind of a community expectation there).

Concerning the ones here, sure they may be low-effort and/or spam, but they're uncommon and pretty low on the list of things that need to be removed. If someone is doing that frequently, please let us know by reporting it because spam is spam and we'll take care of it because it can become pretty disruptive that way. We don't and shouldn't have to go after every little violation though.

Do you feel we should be taking a harsher stance against this and looking out for it?

Hit us up on the Moderation Discord if you need to report something you feel mods are overlooking.

Someone saying that they logged in just to upvote is actually them saying, "Hey man! Your post was really good and I like what you said/joked about. It was good enough for my lazy self to actually click the log in button on my phone and go through the activity of logging in to upvote your post instead of simply agreeing/chuckling and moving on to another post.

I think it really depends on the specific board. In GD or Misc., it's a part of the the culture. I haven't seen it get out hand, though.

On other boards I don't see it often enough to be a concern, but I keep mostly to PB.

As DTN said, if you see something that you think is inappropriate, feel free to report. It will get looked at.
