What's the logic behind letting banned players retain board privileges?

If somebody's behavior is bad enough to warrant an in-game ban, wouldn't removing or restricting their forum privileges make sense? Banned folks are constantly spreading misinformation on the boards in an effort to get back at Riot for banning them, and as far as I can tell, virtually never actually contribute in a meaningful way.

I get that the PB forums in particular are a tool for Support to deflect some questions and complaints away from Riot employees, but surely restricting posting privs to a single thread or something would improve the boards overall. Right?

To be honest, I'm not sure we actually have the tech to block posting based on in-game bans. I'd have to check if that's even a possibility, but I suspect it's not.

Additionally, I'm not sure I like the idea of inherently connecting the two, because then it seems like it would have to work the other way as well -- if you know someone is banned from the boards for language, should they be banned from in-game? What if they're on a different server? What if they're a poster with great contributions and great board behavior but they're banned in-game -- do we have to lose their acceptable boards behavior as well?
