Please Remove GD From The Front Page

Meme's and Games was at least like 50% related to the game with some LoL memes. GD is just a mess of pointless nonsense, and is over half the friggin threads on the front page now. I come to the League of Legends boards for League of Legends stuff. I figure the GD trolls are gonna downvote me cause that's what they do (and why most of us stay clear of GD), but I would venture a guess that I'm far from the only person not wanting to see the front page cluttered with pointless threads that makes memes and games look like Gameplay and balance threads in comparison.

Half of the front page GD posts are low quality content and just taking up space too.

I agree with you 100%, but the state of GD was that while it had a strong community, it was dwindling. It's content also greatly overlapped with that of Miscellaneous, which had no community at all and why the two were merged after discussions with the Boards Volunteers and the GD community.

The spam will die down for the most part soon (they are only this active because of the change), and as GD gets new users posting regularly we'll get different content from there.

We should be able to select what pages we want to see on our frontpage already. I want to get rid of both M&G and GD.

Miscellaneous was a dead subboard. Since GD also served the same function (and then some), Wardens/Keyru decided that it was better to have the dead board absorbed by GD.

Now, I can't say I particularly understand why you hate the idea of interests outside of League being posted on these boards or having them on the front page. General Discussion is the place to share those interests outside of League to find increased common ground. Maybe you liked something else but had no forum to really talk about it on. But because it was mentioned on GD, you now have a chance to talk about it with other people.

BTW, this post comes off as a Gameplay rant in an M&G thread. I know you're serious about it when there's no reason to be. Especially since you are not obligated to click on our threads.

Nami Considering it is the first day of a merger and first day of GD having front page access, I expect that it will dwindle a bit and you will see less "clutter" as time passes. Currently GD is excited by the prospect and filling up our new Board (since the merge) and as such activity is high and upboats are plentiful.

I urge you to give it some time before condemning a Board to solitude. I personally do not care one iota for the BS on Gameplay and as such the Front Page being littered with Gameplay stuff would be (and was) boring and annoying to me. Everyone has different preferences and everyone wants to see different things. Boards imo, cant cater to just one group of people, especially when every Board has a right to be viewed. Just because it is not the type of content you necessarily like does not mean that everyone else feels the same way.

I can understand the dislike of it and I definitely can gather your point from your post, but as I said, give it some time and it will slow down and you will start to see more activity elsewhere being posted on that Front Page. It is Day 1 and people are excited. Also, you could come by and give us a shot. Not everyone is GD will bite your head off and not everywhere there will downboat just because you disagree.

But wait! Taking your opinion and putting it aside, you'll notice that we're not "downvote trolls", there is League discussion -- all the time, in-fact! -- and we're the embodiment of three boards put together under one moniker and a strong community. We're Gameplay, except not full of Bronze players who don't really understand gameplay, we're Memes and Games except our games are interactive and our memes are mostly GD in-jokes instead of 0/10 gifs trying to relate themselves to League or their life, and we're also Misc in that we have free reign to talk about almost whatever we want, because that's what our board is. General Discussion.

Hell, where else could you get a good music thread going? Nowhere, that's where.

Of course there will always be that boards rivalry thing going on I guess, but If you put aside your ridiculous judgements and prejudices for five seconds, you'd maybe notice that you're making a mountain out of a molehill, just like how I don't really hate Gameplay or M&G, I just don't really go there often because it doesn't appeal to me. I don't go to Gameplay because the people there are too busy complaining about one champion for five weeks while I want to discuss something different. When I try to do that, I get downvoted and told that my opinion is garbage by someone who has been playing for half a year, simply because I didn't want to talk about how OP Yasuo is at the moment. You know what board does indulge me in the other things I want to talk about regarding League?
