Generalized light insults are okay sometimes but not others?
I've seen countless cases of people making vicious blanket statements about people on these boards. Calling them feeders, swearing at them, calling them stupid in several forms... None of it's banned, nor probably should it be.
Yet just now I had a post removed for "being a jerk" after I responded to a simple "SHHHHHHH" with "Sorry, didn't mean to wake all the babies ****, just wanted us adults to have a reasonable conversation." It wasn't even about the so-called "babies", I had no specific people in mind. It was more about turning his comment into something it wasn't so he'd maybe stop trying to burn me with the terse, shallow attacks he'd been slinging at every one of my arguments. Kind of trying to show him I can and will deflect his attacks so there's really no point in launching them.
I wasn't referencing anyone specific, nor was I being entirely serious, so I'm just a little curious as to where the bar is set here. If calling people who are throwing a temper tantrum because you dared to suggest that maybe giving up on your teammates should be a reportable offense "babies" - again, to a generalized public, not to any specific person - is considered being a jerk, can... Can we voice any non-positive opinion about other people on these boards?
I mean I wouldn't even call it negative. From where I'm standing, there's nothing wrong with "being a baby". It just means you have a specific form of argument that I'd consider shallow. It's fine if you want to shout and scream that the OP is this or that and not make a counter-argument, I have nothing against speaking your mind. It's just that personally, I'd rather engage in an actual debate, you know?
