Gods above, you just can't win.

I don't mean the matches. I don't mean by going off-meta.

I mean here.

You just can't win. What do I mean?

I mean that you can't actually have an argument with anyone. Not because of the wardens, or Riot, or any kind of moderation.

I mean because everyone automatically accuses them if they even dare to defend whatever's popular to hate.

You defend Riot's stance on anything (and I mean anything at all! Not just policy or punishment issues, but balance, and even skins!), and you get called a sheep, a tool. It doesn't matter what said stance is, it doesn't even matter if you can prove their position right factually and morally, it doesn't even matter if you're known for hating Riot's guts, and you constantly post that they're a terrible company that just milks its players like Bethesda is milking Skyrim, but this one time they made a good decision that you can't really argue against.

This also applies in a lesser extent to defending, say, a Warden's actions. Claim that their removal of a post was justified, and you'll almost literally drown in the downvotes. You'll have enough downvotes to rival the US debt from that comment alone.

Oh, and God forbid you even suggest that the champion/class being called OP for that week isn't actually as strong as they say it is (You don't even have to say it's not broken! Just that it's not as strong as they think! Go to any post screaming that Twitch is OP, and say that "While Twitch is definitely too strong right now, he's not as broken as you're saying he is", and you'll instantly hit -20 downvotes when you refresh).

You claim that most ADCs really aren't that strong? Say that they're BSing the numbers? Say that the build they're claiming ADCs use to curbstomp is never actually seen? Dare to bring evidence that mid really isn't being crowded-out by marksmen? HAH. Good luck surviving that onslaught.

Oh. And never say that "While Ahri does have a lot of skins, that last skin was fine for her, and not 'one too many'". Or that "All classes' itemization sucks, not just mages' itemization". Or that "Riot's a company - they need to make money. And they're giving you free content anyways. And you don't even need to buy said skin to do anything" - You'll instantly be annihilated by the billions of downvotes pouring in.

Seriously. You guys make me sick. People are actually able to support something without being fanatic cultists of it. So act like it.

This was... beautiful to read. I agree wholeheartedly, it's very hard to have a discussion about things without people automatically assuming you hate them or that you love them and will defend them to the last.

Seriously. You guys make me sick.

This part hurt to read... because not everyone is like that, there are people looking for discussion but their threads get downvoted before anyone sees them, much like mine (and I assume many others) do.

Honestly downvotes shouldn't be the controller of what makes things seen on the boards: it's too easy to be abused by people who "don't like your opinion" as a way to almost silence any opinion that isn't theirs.

There are probably much better ways for this board to operate, but they wont be implemented at all :/
