How is rank not relevant to the discussion?

If the other player can get higher elo than him by """"inting"""" what is he doing that he's still stuck in lower elo - was my entire point. I can see whoever removed my post didn't even read the fucking discussion because you missed someone quoting my post. Stop blindly deleting comments! If you do not have enough time to spend on cases step down from your position! Also don't you usually sign your removals? Why is there no signature below mine?

This is an ad hominem, specifically with regard to rank. The Universal Boards Rules specifically state this is not allowed.

You were simply being reminded we expect better from you, which frankly you should understand by now, given the number of actions against your account.

It was Evangele, but that's hardly relevant given the removal was appropriate.

I didn't say you suck therefor your point is irrelevant. I merely pointed out that his "inting" can get him higher elo than that person's "serious playstyle". Ad hominem also kind of needs a serious discussion and not a "your playstyle is basically inting so you deserve to get inted back".

i.e. "while you can't climb higher than you are and are stuck there."

Here's how to make the same point without the personal attack:

His "inting" still got him to D2. Dude must be doing something right.

Notice how it's the same point ("perhaps this is valid") without bringing the other player's rank into the conversation, let alone suggesting they're stuck there.

That is not an ad hominem.

Asserting that someone should be aware of the rules after having had reminders of the same is not an ad hominem. It is a perfectly valid point.

The OP opened themselves up to this when they came to complain about proper moderation action. Maybe they will think twice about attempting to stir shit next time.

Didn't think it's necessary as this is meant for the mods (who I assume can just check my moderation logs or w/e it's called) but the comment is: "That guy is D2 with his "inting" while you're still stuck in Plat." The person in question called the other player's playstyle "inting" so I made that statement.

Yeah, that's definitely subject to removal because you're trying to discredit what someone is saying by pointing out their rank or performance. It's called Rank Shaming.

How is rank irrelevant to the discussion when we're discussing playstyles? Someone said that his playstyle is inting and I pointed out that it works better than whatever that guy is doing. I don't see how that cannot be part of the discussion.

So Person A called into question Person B's play style into question, seemingly specific to a game (or several games). You thought the best response was to attempt to discredit Person A by calling out their rank, as if being a lower rank makes their observation less valuable? As Hotarµ said, that is, quite literally, the definition of Rank Shaming, which is against boards rules.

Just like any rules anywhere, just because one person is breaking them, does not make it ok for another to break them as well.

That is a very dangerous mindset to have. Would you think rules against murder or theft or similar-such things would be stupid if a bunch of people started breaking those rules en-masse?

The rules, whether you believe they are stupid or not, exist for a reason. They aren't stupid just because you, a few people, or even a hundred people think they're stupid. And if you don't like the rules, you're very much free to go somewhere else.

That actually is pretty strange, rank definitely does seem relevant to a discussion if a certain playstyle is being debated on and a player managed to get a high rank with that playstyle.
