Why are people so worried about Categories?

I noticed that people will jump all over someone for posting under the wrong topic on here.

I get it, we don't want people to flood the wrong topic with unrelated discussions, but is it really this much of a problem?

It honestly seems like some people jump to this if they don't like the topic and want the post taken down.

Otherwise, I think a lot of subjects are pretty ambiguous and it shouldn't really be a problem if it loosely falls under the selected topic by any stretch of the imagination.

Maybe point it out in a comment, but I don't think it's necessary to report posts unless they're spamming or there is a clear issue with where it is being posted.

I have even posted on the wrong topic on accident, only to have a lengthy post I put a lot of work into deleted and I simply didn't have the energy to make a new post.

Is this something you've noticed?

Should it be a bigger concern than I think it is?

You should be able to go to your deleted post, copy it, and post it in the correct section.

There's no winning in forum moderation.

Remove too much, and you get this post. Remove too little, and you get the opposite post.

It's not so much that people are "worried" about it, but that the goal is being able to find and see content relevant to where you're looking. This is not something that's unique to these boards.

Sometimes it is done to clean up, and other times it is to potentially help you get the right kind of traffic.

Talking about a champs balance in Story Art and Sound doesn't make sense. (Just as an example).
