Posters should be able to lock thread responses to certain ranked tiers

I read a lot of threads where people argue about the viability of a certain champ or strategy, only to find out the OP is talking about plat/diamond and the respondents are arguing from a silver perspective. It would be good if posters could restrict responses below a certain ranked tier. I know that will inflame the unskilled boards population who thinks their opinions are viable in all conversations, but they are not and they are unreasonable about it.

So, to be blunt, we won't be doing this sort of thing.

Rank isn't a truly reliable indicator of anything but in-game skill. I personally know a few Bronze players who, despite not being the best players themselves, know more about the game and pro-level gameplay matchups than some Diamond one-tricks I know. The Bronze players just don't play as much, or as seriously, or just aren't good at implementing what they know.

The boards are not, and never will be, a place where your rank dictates your ability to contribute to a conversation, nor a place where we imply that your rank dictates the value of your contribution, which a change like this would. It's no less unreasonable for a Challenger player to go "I only want to talk to Diamond players and above" than it is for a Bronze player to say "this Challenger player should listen to my opinion." If you don't like someone's opinion or find it irrelevant to your discussion, you are free to ignore it, skim over it, or simply not respond.

Given there are challengers who have no idea what theyre talking about and unrankeds who do, locking out people based on elo has no bearing on an argument or conversation. If you need a flashy badge to have your argument hold water, your argument is bad.

Don't be silly. People are matched based on their MMR, not their rank. Rank has less to do with skill now than MMR.

Lock by MMR might work, in terms of your argument. But I still think it's silly and dumb to block people out. The boards exist for the purpose of discussions, not for you to create an echo chamber for yourself.

Ya let's also tell the NFL that football coaches shouldn't be allowed to have an opinion about what there team should do.
