With the winners and contest out of the way, I wanted to make a thread for everyone to give feedback, vent or just give some general thoughts on the contest. As this was one of the first major contests boards has had with prizes, things were rough. (Which can 100% be attributed to me doing this on my own. Not so much because of other moderators not helping but my incredible brain power to take on EVERYTHING ON MY OWN and not ask for too much help.)

This'll likely be a barometer and a knowledge base for the future if/when we hold future contests and hopefully a guideline for those who do want to do some boards stuff. With that, I'd ask for a "One positive/One negative" rule. If possible, try to avoid overlapping things so we can get a wide range. I'll update this periodically as well. The first one was my end for sake of kicking it off.

#The Good

  • Narrative entries were almost 50 in a single month span. There IS a place for fan fiction contests, Riot!

#The Bad

  • Misc was a fairly dead category. I hoped there'd be more unique brands of talent but it seems it's unique for a reason.

There's some stuff that has been mentioned before but otherwise...fire away.

I liked that the Misc category was present. It may not have had a significant number of entries, but all of them had noticeable effort put into them. I appreciate that they were created and I just had to whisper "wow" when I saw them.

Misc. allows for music, craft and other forms of art to be made, which perhaps wouldn't be otherwise.

Misc category is very important, however it's sometimes nice to give more explanation to the participants so they know what falls under the misc category and what doesn't. Perhaps just blandly listing as many things you could think of would be already good! Thank you for this contest
