[GAMEPLAY] Runaan's Hurricane does not apply the on hit splash damage from Kayle's Righteous Fury

I already asked support about this and they told me to file it as a bug here.

Kayle's Righteous Fury applies AoE damage around the targets of her auto attack. This splash damage is not applied around the target's of Runaan's side bolts.

The reason I consider this a bug, is because Jinx has exactly the same type of splash damage (AoE Spell that is applied like an on hit effect) but it applies on all three shot's with Runaan.

To reproduce:

  1. Choose Kayle and buy Runaan's Hurricane.

  2. Attack a group of enemies, z.B. big Krug 3 .Notice how the small Krug is hit with the damage from Runaan's side bolt and the Splash damage from the main Shot.

  3. Notice how the big Krug is only affected by the damage from the main shot, but no splash damage from the side shot.

  4. Repeat the same with Jinx, notice how both mobs are affected by splash damage.

This happens every time.

PS: I do not own Jinx yet, so I did not personally check and actually rely on reports of other players here. I did check the missing splash on Kayle thought.

PPS: wonder why the forum replaces my 5. with 1.

If I remember how messy some of league's coding is, I don't think this is exactly a bug so much as an effect of how the ability was originally coded. The splash is probably not actually an on-hit effect and is coded as a spellcast-on-attack instead. Which is probably pretty confusing since there IS also just an on-hit effect component for the primary target.

Despite the lack of triple-dipping on the splash damage, I think runaan's Kayle used to be pretty popular, so I assume the actual on-hit damage (which has no AD scaling) gets applied. Or it used to, maybe it's bugged now and also gone.

Still, it's sort of LIKE a bug in that it's inconsistent coding that they could change. Not sure they want to buff Kayle though, Kayle causes a lot of headaches whenever she's on the scene

It is working as intended with Kayle, the splash is a specially worded skill not to be included as an "on hit" effect.
