Lesser wolves (the small ones) stop attacking

I was playing a custom game with Master Yi today. After killing the giant wolf, the lesser wolves stop attacking me for some reason. I didn't smite the wolves at all. I started the fight with alpha strike, killed the giant wolf, and then the smaller ones stopped attacking. Is this supposed to happen?
