Black screen in champion select

I was qued up and everything and when 10 people hit yes it just turned black with no sound. I could check my friends list and everything but couldn't pick a champion or see anything of the sort. So I waited a minute and now I have to wait 6 minutes. 6 minutes isn't the longest time but like I was punished for not picking a champion when I physically couldn't pick a champion?

I just had the same problem. I clicked the button when the game told me a match was found, and the screen went black. When I clicked the X to close the game it gave me the message as though I were quitting a game in progress, so I just waited since i couldn't do anything. Then I found myself back at the main page with a time penalty because the system screwed up.
