possible jax bug?

I was playing against a jax earlier

I noticed whenever he activated his ult or Q (i was playing darius) he was able to hit me over 3 teemos distance away instead of the normal range of jax which is one teemo?

Is that a bug...? he did not leap to me, nor did he stun me... I wasnt able to record this , and didnt think much of it considering we won, but still should be looked into
