Thresh hook didn't CC Malzahar w/o passive

(Thresh) I basic attacked the Malzahar to pop his passive which only lingers for 0.25s, then attempted to Q hook him (has a 0.5s delay as opposed to 0.25s Malz passive) and although he used W on top of himself, the voidling was full health and my hook just vanished. He had a Morgana on his team but I checked thoroughly through the replay, her black shield never went on CD (was never used) and Malz passive buff icon went on CD (look for it in video below!) before my hook even left my model, yet he was unaffected, took no damage or CC. I don't know how to make videos but I used the Replay feature to record it from both Malzahar & Morgana's perspective. If it's not a bug then the game should show that the Voidling taking damage and thresh hook SFX. I have 2 videos and recorded it at half speed.

Malz minions actually spawned right before you made contact with him so instead of hitting him and hoocking him, you killed 1 out of 2 minions that spawn.

I don't know how damage texts work, but if you look at the minion Thresh killed, you can see no damage text appeared for that minion when it died... the same as the voidling. I only typed that because it's possible you may be wrong that a damage number SHOULD appear when you killed these units (I assume you think the damage text was a bug as well). In the case you may be thinkning Thresh didn't kill a voidling, Malzahar's voidling give you 2 gold if it's been killed. If you look at Thresh, you can see he gains 2 gold at one point.

Malzahar can spawn more than one voidling. It's possible Thresh just killed one on top of a different one.

Thresh's hook will not continue its visual effect if a unit dies. That's unnecessary animation for a unit that technically no longer exist.

I believe there is no bug here.
