client "game is in progress" but it's not opening up the actual fucking game

Actually, it's on your end:
- Open your Task Manager
- Go to your processes and order them by name
- Find the "League of Legends" instance and terminate it. Simply right click then "Terminate" or Left Click then DELETE key. Be sure to only remove the one with the older icon. That is the game client.
Basically, you need to forcefully kill the game client and click the "Reconnect" button.
if a user has to terminate a task it means that it was broken and needed to be restarted, its on riot that this happened. issue happened to me too, i dont wanna get banned for no reason so rito pls help me
I had this issue. It appears for me atleast it was because I was playing it in windowed mode. I switched it to borderless and it seems like it is no longer happening.
If you get this bug again it's due to multiple processes of league running on your computer. To fix it should it arise again you need to open task manager, go to background tasks and end all league of legends processes, then relaunch. Also, editing your discussion title to include [Client] Game in progress bug! and explaining the issue may give you a better chance to be noticed. Good luck!
