Yasuo Ulting Off Self-Initiated Airborne Abilities (Again)

As we all know, Yasuo is able to ult ANY airborne target, however, I was under the impression that he was only supposed to be able to do this to enemies he knocked up with his q, or had assistance with such as through a Cho'Gath q, Malphite ult, and other displacement effects. This has not been the case throughout my experience playing against the champion.

For the past year, the majority of the time I try to use Aatrox's dark flight to engage a Yasuo, he is able to use the instance in which I am briefly airborne as a means of catching me mid-flight, interrupting the ability, and ult me straight to hell. This issue would happen so frequently, that during the era where Yasuo was being picked in almost every ranked game, I would avoid picking Aatrox who was a main for a while, simply to avoid having this happen to me. These instances would occur most-often during 1v1 situations with no outside interference, such as interrupts, or knock-ups from other champions.

What makes things worse is that yesterday, I was enjoying a game as Hecarim, wherein during using my devastating charge to engage Yasuo, something happened involving Hecarim's knock-back animation -- wherein he briefly leaps at the target to knock the target back -- somehow registered Hecarim as being airborne and I was ulted by the Yasuo I was in the middle of charging. I understand that champions with self-airborne abilities can be ulted if interrupted by Yasuo, or an ally on his team, however, the match I was in yesterday featured champions with absolutely no interrupts: Urgot, Kayle, Yasuo, Caitlyn, and Tahm Kench, unless you count Urgot's ult as an interrupt, but that was not the case during my devastating charge, nor was he even within range to ult my champion.

This problem is very counter-intuitive as Yasuo should have to earn his ults himself, or rely on an ally to get the knock-up in for him, not punish players on the opposing side simply because the very nature of their abilities involves a brief airborne animation. Is Ziggs going to get knocked up whenever he uses his explosive charge, will Quinn suddenly find herself vaulting and backflipping into a Yasuo ult because the abilities happen to make them briefly airborne? What about Sejuani's q where she lunges at the target, or Kha'Zix's leap?

TL;DR Yasuo gets free ultimates off against enemies who use initiating abilities that make them airborne if only for brief instant, and is extending to abilities that may not appear to make the champion airborne, even though he's not supposed to be capable of such, and although it has been stated by riot that it's not supposed to be possible it is still happening. Please look into this, as it is very frustrating, as I actually really enjoy playing Hecarim and Aatrox and don't enjoy being punished for using their abilities.
