What happened to prior rank armor?

I get borders during load screen in ranked are dynamic now but I thought we were supposed to have something that showed our rank from last season? Or do we have to wait until end of first split for that? How would that even make sense? This is a bug or? I swear you guys said there would be some sort of armor on our borders that would grow throughout the splits that showed our prior rank.

New silver borders look even more than normal. So.... thanks for that! Really excited about having a shittier border because season been going for 2-3 weeks and ours ranks drop due to soft reset and haven't had enough time to climb :). Thanks guys over at Riot! This is such a great change!
