Riven targeted Q bug since the animation-cancel update

Since the update to Riven's animation-canceling in patch 7.10 I believe, there has been a bug that would sometimes occur with her Q. Sadly, I don't know how to reproduce it. [If you're not much into Riven: There are two ways to cast Riven's Q. While being in melee range, if you cast Q without having your cursor over your target, you will dash through them, dealing damage. If you have your cursor on your target, it will dash into them (but not through them), dealing damage and having a shorter animation time than the former since your dash distance is lower.] Description: If the bug occurs, when you use a targeted Q instead of dashing towards the target, Riven will seemingly dash sideways - yet using the short, targeted-dash animation (thus distinguishable from an untargeted-Q), making her "miss" the target and deal no damage.

This occurrence should be impossible considering Riven's targeted-Q will always make her dash towards her target. The fact that she's still using the short-dash animation while semi-dashing sideways means it's an unintended bug rather than something related to a player messing up their movement command or cursor placement before using Q.

This happens all the time to me, but the most common version is when I use her 3rd Q and it goes backwards, away from the enemy. I can't count the amount of kills I've lost or the times I've died because my Q's go the opposite direction.
