In the many games i have successfully trapped a tristana inside veigar cage and she tries to rocket jump out, she gets stunned by event horizon, is that supposed to happen? does veigar cage have infinite height?

Height is not a thing in this game. Everything is coded as being on the ground. Visually this may not make sense, but that's just how it is.
As for Veigar's Event Horizon, yeah, it stops Trist's jump, and any jump/dash for that matter. Only things it won't stop are Blinks and Unstoppable Forces (Malph Ult, Vi Ult)
It now prevents people from dashing through it.
Yeah veigars cage prevents any escape except for blinks (ez kat zed and talon are the only ones i can think of at the moment. )
Nothing, not even light can escape once passed the event horizon. Unless you Yasuo Windwall it, then he'll pass through.
