Computer Freezing in League

Only with league. I played several hours of Monster Hunter World with only a little start up lag and I've been playing Sims 4 with no lag at all. However I have had league freeze mid game twice and the client itself has frozen my computer. It's only been happening since this past patch. :/ it also acts like I haven't been playing the entire season. It offers me the TOS and tells me how the preseason changed for season 8...
