Sound issues 8.5

So volume settings got completely butchered this patch.

I had my master volume set pretty low before and everything was set up pretty well, now because of whatever change happened basically all other volume levels wouldn't even play unless they were above level 25.

Also when I readjusted my master volume to fix the issue I realized all the other volume settings were COMPLETELY off balance. Sound effects especially. -backing for one is too loud -champion sound effects are too quiet -the shop is too quiet

It's just a huge mess and I'm just not even gonna play til it's fixed. I'm an audiophile and this actually triggers me. Literally.... literally triggered.

Hey folks - a big part of the 8.5 patch was an under the hood upgrade to the audio engine. We'll be monitoring your feedback and bug reports very closely over the next few patches while we iron out some kinks in the system.

I thinked im only one who meet problems with sound I always playing with too low sound , like ~20% But after batch 8.5 this sounds became too loud :

Recall
Explosion Nexus
Beginning of the game , when summoners appear etc. I hope this will fixed as soon as possible [zombie-nunu-bummed]

I have the same issue, the money sound when u kill a minion, the flashes and the recall are all too loud

Commenting to raise awareness and to add to the list, summoner spells such as flash and teleport are incredibly loud as well.

Going to be honest here, sound playing too quiet or too loud is one of the most (if not the only) infuriating bugs for me. I can not focus on playing the game if something plays too loud and I can't hear other sound effects (and that's also one of the reasons it's difficult for me to play Evelynn, because the sound is so different when her passive is active). Less of an issue when a sound effect is missing, I'll probably still catch the visual effect with my eye. But a sound that deafens me just distracts me.

Now I know Riot has updated their sound engine. Whatever it changes, I have no idea, but for one I know such sound issues happen once in a while. Even in 8.4 I read some people complaining about announcers voice being off. Luckily it didn't happen to me, or I didn't catch that.

Because difference in sounds is such a sensitive subject for me, I don't want to play the game until it's fixed, be it a hotfix or next patch.

+1 the sound on certain events(backport, mastery7emote, defeat/victory-screen) is much to loud. makes it hard to enjoy the game as much as before. my first comment ever btw. :)

Can I just the say that the sound of the nexus exploding in ARAM sounds like a goddamn thunderstorm just cracked in my ears now? Jesus it scared me the first few games.

in Aram the Snowball throw sound, ignite, (so maybe all summoner spells) the beginning spawn sound, the end game nexus explosion and notably Evelynn e ability is Incredibly loud while everything else is fine, just something to let you know [sona-playing]

I probably found a fix for this issue. Depending on what sound device you use. I've disabled the "Dolby Digital Plus" feature in my sound device settings. Maybe this can help someone of you guys. Maybe the LoL sound engine got some major issues with 'sound enhancing' settings on the driver itself.

My game sounds are so glitchi, that I get earraped with every single ability, backing, leveling up, dying, coming back to life, everything... Please fix / revert the sound because this makes the game unplayable for me and I belive many others aswell.

Yeah for me the only issue I'm having is extremely loud Nexus explosion at end of game, Victory or Defeat. Glad im not the only one; i was going crazy trying to figure out why it was happening [sg-zephyr]

My in game and lobby SFX volumes are relatively low. My "Master" volume for both Lobby and In game is relatively low.

Since the new path I can't play with the audio going as usual. It's like having audio lags, with sound effects and music shutting down every 2-3 seconds. This is for sure related to the new sound engine, as I have not experienced this issue before or have sound issues on everything else on my pc.

Dude this patch is terrible. I was playing with 30% master volume and that nexus explosion sound is too high. I was playing on the speaker at midnight and everything was barely hearable then we either won or lost then the explosion sound was too damn high.

All of you need to learn what triggered actually means. None of you are having PTSD panic attacks because a noise is too high. You're mad about it, you get earraped, all of the above. Quit with the triggered nonsense.

Hm, that is pretty odd! I have a few ideas at what may fix this, we got this!

I see you have alot of processes running on your computer. Some of which could be interfering with League of Legends. To eliminate the possibility of that happening, let's turn off your unnecessary start up processes. This has the added benefit of making your PC boot up faster :)

Go to your start menu and type in the search area, "Command Prompt" Open Command Prompt and type msconfig and then hit enter A window shall open, select Selective Startup and uncheck Load Startup items. Click Apply, OK and then restart your PC. Also, make sure TunnelBear VPN is off for now just to make sure its not interfering with League.

I notice you have a few Overlay programs running. Any overlay program can cause crashing in League as it conflicts with League trying to have priority over processes running. Below are the overlays you'll want to keep off for now:

Windows 10 DVR - Follow this link to disable xbox DVR: https://www.howtogeek.com/273180/how-to-disable-windows-10s-game-dvr-and-game-bar/ Discord has an overlay in User Settings > Overlay - Keep that off as well Plays.tv - Uninstall this program to prevent it from turning back on while in League Rainmeter- Keep off while League is running 3) Let's try a complete config reset which will clear your settings incase of any corruption:

*First open the launcher, log in, and then minimize *Next go to your league folder located at C:\Riot Games\League of Legends and delete the folder called 'config' completely *Finally try to launch a custom game

If your issue persists, please send me updated HRT logs so I can continue to investigate the issue.

Hey guys, I actually solved that problem for me. I had the same exact issues with too loud/mute sounds after the patch. So try these steps:

Open your volume mixer in the taskbar and click on your playback device. Now there can be tabs like "Advanced" "Enhanced" and so on. Open these tabs and uncheck options like "Allow applications to controll these settings" uncheck all other options that are not needed.

Remember depending on your device tabs and options may have other names, but should be relativly the same.

After I did the above Leauge just going well as it was befor. Good luck.

I am recently having audio issues and it is effecting my whole computer while the launcher is open. It freezes my games and stutters it while I hear my audio fizz out and completely go blank

my sound doesn't work in champion select nor que pop up , im not sure if its just on the headphones or overall, but it always happens since patch 8.5

It's not just the backing sound its also all summoner spells, the nexus exploding aswell as the money bag from klepto. Also everything else sounds really quiet. Honestly just a total mess

Same here recall, Eve, victory/defeat screen, lvl 7 mastery and many other things are just insanely loud. reinstall didnt help.

It's pretty bad, I tried my hardest to make everything work together but once below a certain threshold audio won't play at all and if raised above it, it'll be too loud Not hearing the shop "ping" or healing being the loudest thing ever is super annoying I have a feeling this is affecting people with low master volumes Please help
