Sometimes Unable to Lock in or Ban

I get the odd game like once every other day where I will be in champ select chatting away as usual and then its my turn to ban or select my champion and I click the ban button or the lockin button after selecting the champion i want to pick or ban. But when I press the button it makes the noise it does the animation BUT the button turns orange again. I can spam the button and SOMETIMES this works and it will ban or pick the champion.
