For some reason my client has black boxes (Except for the new skins and spectate mode).

EDIT: I uninstalled a folder (Go to C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\solutions\lol_game_client_sln\releases) called something like 0.019
Deleted it and restart your computer, worked for me.

number3321 votesexact same issue...even went so far as to completely uninstall the game and clean registry and re-install...still have the same issue :/ had it before a whole bunch and nothing ever gets said about it.
i remember once like, a year or more ago, riot had mentioned that it would be fixed in a patch but that patch came and went and did nothing for the problem. i'm pretty sure it has something to do with it using adobe air but i can't say for sure.

i say that because i didn't do what your edit mentioned but instead just updated adobe air, and it works now. go figure lol
