Sion's Decimating Smash does seem to be bugged.

So a friend of mine mentioned this to me, and I saw some bug reports mentioning the same issue getting downvoted. So I hopped in Practice mode and tested some stuff, and he does indeed seem to be bugged.

After using Decimating Smash, Sion is unable to move or cast anything with a cast time for ~ 0.5 seconds.

I've tried to use R, E, Ravenous Hydra Active, Protobelt and ''Walk'' after using Q, Sion seems to be locked out of all of these for 0.5 seconds. I also tried it with Youmuus Ghostblade because it does not have a cast time, and this Seems to be working fine.

The Friend who told me about this just mentioned it happens on his E, Roar of the Slayer, aswell, but I have not tested this.

Is there any chance this could be hotfixed? Im trying to stay away from ranked because im a one trick but im challenger so I can't afk from ranked. If it can't be hotfixed, I guess im going to have to try my best to not feed on other tops :(

This sounds like a bug that needs hotfixed because it makes Sion unplayable if he can't do anything for 0.5 seconds after Q.

He's not unplayable, but it does have a pretty major impact on him, so I'd definitely argue for a hotfix. It definitely seems like it warrants one, since it affects every Sion in every game every time he casts Q, not just in occasional circumstances.

It would be like if Ezreal stunned himself for 0.5 seconds every time he used Q.

Umm, no. Make Sion unavailable until you hotfix it. Don't be lazy and screw everyone over who plays Sion for 3 full weeks. Why do I have to be the person that tells you this? .5 seconds of being unable to cast anything after Q buggers him up entirely.

Few things:

Not yelling or swearing at him in any of my posts, he created a bug that makes a champion unplayable (a literal nightmare to play). After a Rioter acknowledges the bug, he/she says "That will get get fixed in 6.5". There is a patch every 2-4 weeks roughly and we just got a patch yesterday. That's 2-4 weeks of Sion with the bug still not fixed.
Are you that naive that you dismiss my comments as" crying that I can't play Sion"? Are you aware of the millions of people who play Sion (some of which are on this board now)? This bug means EVERYONE who plays Sion has to deal with this crap.
Are you unaware of the hundreds of other bug hot fixes that have occurred for instances like these? Do you know how relatively easy it is for them to temporarily disable Sion for a few days until it is fixed?

I only said that he needs to be disabled because that's how they usually hotfix bugs. If they could hotfix it without disabling Sion that would be awesome.

No offense to anyone here, but in games where people know how to counter Sion, you are heavily dependent on immediately playing off of your Q stun. Pretty sure Tilterella is crying himself to sleep tonight.

Normally, champions or items are only disabled if they negatively affect overall game health - champions being able to kill team mates or crash the game, for example. In most instances similar to this, the champion isn't touched until the hotfix.

I want them to fix this as much as the next guy, but I know that they won't hotfix it. hotfixes are almost exclusively for things that are killing game health, like crashes and incredibly absurd bugs, like teamkilling.

But I also can respect that fact that riot has officially recognized the bug, and have even told us that they have fixed the bug, but can't ship out the fix until the next patch. hell, look at the rioters next post, this is a guy that earnestly feels terrible for causing the issue. and you are telling him that he isn't doing his job, that he hasn't done everything that is in his power to do. I get it, you're mad as hell about the bug. I am too, but please don't start yelling at people that are obviously already carrying enough guilt about what's going on.

Also yelling is a term I use to describe someone being incredibly heated in a statement online. I can't hear you so my inner voice shouts to acutely describe the tone that your statement makes the best sense with.

Roughly, depends on the amount of content being changed and timing of other events such as LCS.

The only times I can remember a patch lasting longer than 2 weeks is around preseason/the holidays. There might have been a 3 week patch last mid-season since there were so many changes they needed to watch extensively.

Edit: Just checked the release dates of the patches for the last 2 seasons (to the beginning of Season 5). Every year, there was a 1 month patch in December for the holidays, but other than that there has only been 1 patch longer than 15 days (mid season 5). Every other patch has been 13-15 days for over two years.

If a bug this major happened to a more popular champion such as jhin or lee sin you know it would get hotfixed right away. This is just unfair and lazy.

Since this is a consistent and very noticeable bug that applies to every time Sion uses Q, it seems like it should warrant a hotfix.

If it were like other bugs that only applied in certain circumstances like "when he uses Q while too close to certain parts of terrain" or something, waiting for the next patch would be fine.

But this is every time he uses his most used ability. It would be like if Ezreal stunned himself for 0.5 seconds every time he used Q. Please consider hotfixing it.
