Jayce - Mid V.S Top

I am going to get Jayce and try to make him my main, but for me if I learn a champion with one lane, I find it exceptionally hard to change the lane in which I play the certain champion in. So, which lane is Jayce more OP? (supposing I am pretty good at him. I am quite agressive in laning phase, but I my weakness is landing final blows. Also, I play Ahri mid and Irelia top right now. (Those are example champions that fit my play style )Which lane is better for Jayce Jayce? I usually use the standard, summoner 4 flash and summoner 14 ignite. Thanks for reading this long paragraph and always kindly replying! Thanks! :D

Once you go mid lane you never go back. Who cares about auto attack range advantage when those blasted tanks go doran's shield, counterbuild you and out sustain your poke while you slowly run out of mana and have to back or risk getting ganked? Even when you do manage to poke them out of lane they have tp whereas you have ignite. They will just tp back to lane and not lose a single creep.

At least mid lane you are strong overall, it is a shorter lane to poke more safely and make it harder to dodge, easier to get ganks, you get blue buff, you get to assert your dominance over squishy mid laners, and you get to roam top and bot to snowball with ease.

Practice both? I mean, he is a strong counter pick to a good number of top laners. He is also a strong counter pick to a lot of non-sustain mid laners. If you practice him in both situations, he works as a flex pick for you. And it makes it so the enemy doesn't know where you are going, so it is harder to counter pick you.

I'd say mid. Jayce is way more similar to Ahri than to Irelia IMO. Only real general reason why top would be better is because you wouldn't have to ward quite as much, (you can usually get by with one ward in top, while mid usually needs two) but mid is way more worth the risk.

Jayce is pretty safe anyways.

So yeah even if you are a good Jayce mid, if bot feeds, watch out for a toxic bomb

Both are good. If u want to go a little bit more agreesive, I would choose top, since they don't have enough range to even touch up you. But overall, I think Mid is better.

When there's a free blue buff, you gotta take it, right?

Anyways, in my opinion, I like going mid jayce more than top. Good luck! :)

Jayce is like Ryze, in that he's a good pick anywhere that he has a good matchup. No reason to restrict yourself to one lane or the other.

Top lane, the reason why is because Jayce is best against Melees that can't gap close onto him so he can constantly harass his opponent without being at risk of getting jumped on and killed, now junglers can definitely screw up his day but he can just knock them away, unless he's unable to do that from some kind of CC or can't do anything since the jungler has a gap closer to avoid E letting you safely walk to your turret while smacking them away.

Mid lane isn't too bad, it's just that you instantly lose that ranged AA advantage since a lot of mid laners are ranged, also, you're probably going to get severely outranged in a lot of situations and die from poke.

Anyways, I would say top lane, mid lane in very specific situations, and hopefully you'll do well with him. :D
