Botlane hardest to carry with (discussion)

We have been duo'qing almost exclusively for the last year. Prior to that my partner was a high D1/Masters support main that went ADC to help teach me support/the game/main a new role and overall we've had a ton of fun improving as a pair (I went from scared of leaving my turret to having him bring out the best in me lol wise). We never really "hardcore try-harded" as I really had a lot to learn, esp mechanics wise & still wanted to have fun. We took a hiatus for a few months (I quit for a bit) after getting to mid-plat and have returned to lol this last fortnight. Gotta say, however, that REGARDLESS of how well we lane and team fight it has become** NOTICEABLY harder and more frustrating to use our lead botlane and transition it into a win** - understandably we (mostly I) could be doing more but is this generally a shift in the meta/standard atm? Because from experiencing other roles they are a lot easier to snowball with (ofc the toplane meta). We are finding the BIGGEST DIFFERENCE from our ranked games previous to my break to now is that our team is **CONSTANTLY **fighting. Vision means nothing, objectives and pushing waves out are also a last priority compared to getting kills. My sweeping, timing of summoners and prompts of dragon timers etc go unnoticed more than ever before. I sometimes go to my allies to help peel them from getting caught but despite a ping back they always try to turn the fight into a 2v5. And despite my partners individual strength of play he often gets prio targeted by the enemy (my peel alone isn't always enough) and each game is just a huge mess of us noah arking and then the enemy. Either I have a better understanding of the game than I did before and am seeing it in a different light or league has evolved into an even more blood thirsty game than I remember.

So this leads onto:

  • is it generally agreed that botlane have to rely on their team MORE than any other role & is the hardest to reap the reward with despite your success in lane?
  • maybe we are not adapting properly to our teams - sometimes I personally feel doing the "right thing" such as "de-pushing" a wave or preparing dragon isn't actually the right thing at all. That maybe I/we should ignore all this and stay with my rabid team-mates and try to make every team fight that occurs at 30 second intervals more in our favor?

NOTE: this is more my (the shitter support's) thought's tbh. I have talked over this with everyone I know that plays but would definitely appreciate an outside opinion. This is just another hurdle for the moment that I am personally stuck on. My partner is obviously still in diamond on his main (and he's not here to eloboost, we are a duo and we're both learning to a lesser/greater degree) so the reality could quite possibly be that I am the shit that balances the scale >.< It just wasn't this difficult before and I feel that we've(me) actually improved as a botlane!

In general, I've found that the ADC is the guinea pig of the team. Supports exist for a reason after all, and the ADC is powerless on its own to any burst class.

My opinion is that the Jungler has the easiest time "carrying" due to the fact that they, as an entire role, are the most objective based out of all the team members. You do win lol by getting objectives, not necessarily winning fights, after all.

Yea this meta isn't very good for bot lanes right now. This is mainly due to the new bruiser meta. This is also why people are fighting more because they take less items to be effective so they can fight sooner. Once a Darius or Fiora get maybe 1 or 2 items they are able to fight when ever. It takes more gold and time for adc's to be effective so mid game they are still really weak compared to what top lanes are able to do. Top lane also snowballs supper hard because of the meta so going even if your top lane is losing isn't going to cut it.

My suggestion would be to play heavy peel/heal champions. This will give your adc the most up time and they hard counter melee bruiser types. Jana, Nami, Lulu and Sona are probably your best bets right now. That along with life steal and early armor pen are going to help your adc peel and life steal their way to a win.
