Don't give away any information

General tip for ranked games:

Don't give away any information to your opponents. You don't have to be a jerk, but you don't have to say anything.

If you used the wrong runes/masteries, don't announce that in all chat.

Don't give your laning opponent tips on how to play the game or itemize.

Don't tell the other team what skills they should max first.

Just don't tell them anything that could be used against you in the slightest.

Be nice in the postgame, after you win. You might not think that little things matter, but you really want to take every advantage you can. I've seen a n enemy jungle camp a lane after the player announced in /all he had the wrong runes. The player fed and we lost. I've had a top lane Rengar coach enemy Darius how to play against him after the Rengar drew first blood. Darius killed Rengar three times after that. We lost. I've had an ADC tell enemy Vayne that she should rush BotRK instead of IE after a pickaxe first buy. Vayne bought BotRK asap, won the lane, and we lost.

I still remember when teammates would announce dragons taken and give away timers. That's not relevant anymore but the point is the same. Just don't tell your opponents anything.

It's what I think when an ally goes "/all lol AP Ashe new meta" at the beginning of the game. Like, shut up, why would you showcase that you are weaker than you should be? Or "gg insert jungler here afk" SHUT UP! As long as they don't know he's in spawn they can somewhat fear his ganks, why would you ever tell them?

These people should just say it in the post game chat. In game, you only make puns based on your champion.

I say "n1" if say, Kennen accidentally ults on a ward. Yeah he knows that I know that he doesnt have ult for a minute and will adjust his play BUT he just may tilt.

I don't know why people play without all chat disabled.

if i see a troll or something in all chat then ill play along whenever im back at base. otherwise its just funny watching when an enemy team rages at each other in all chat.

That being said i completely agree with these tips...especially when my own team is typing in all chat about how our support sucks or he's low level jg doesnt know how to gank etc....if you are gonna rage go ahead, but do it in our team chat.

Selective attention is really good when it comes to chat even on your own team...although I have had a game or two where i had to literally mute the entire game because the other team was raging and my own team was raging too..
