Looking in to playing jungle

How do I play jungle? I don't know. I don't have the proper runes, what exactly are the proper runes? What camps do I clear? If you have a step by step process, that would really help. I also really suck at camp clearing, any tips on that? I like udyr, I tried him out when he was free and I'm thinking of buying him. I've also tried tf jungle, which I did horrible in. Everytime I play jungle, I lose. And when I do play jg, it's like every lane expects me to gank at the same time AND hold their lanes because they don't want to lose one tower when it's at full health. What's a jungler you'd recommend for a beginner jg like me?

I have:

Shaco Eve Nunu Yi Kayle? Jax (never played with him)

If possible, recommend someone with easy wave clear that doesn't need proper runes.

Okay I'd suggest fiddlesticks.

Runes: quints: ability power seals: armor marks: magic penetration glyphs: ability power

Thing about fiddlesticks is that you can really start at any camp and should not have too much trouble. Around lvl 5 you should be able to solo dragon, ofc you should be doing this in a custom game to get sense of what he is capable of. Sorry but thats all i got for you today, i'm like really tired from school.

I forget to mention if your gonna do a shaco jungle there is but one thing you need to know. Most of the time you are going to be ganking and counter jungling.

Uh... scrap that entire pool except Jax and Yi those 5 eyed funky head gear wearers are pretty decent

Nunu falls off after laning phase, and counter jungling is both dangerous and difficult Shaco.. counter jungling is both dangerous and difficult Eve just fell off entirely this season Kayle doesnt have the burst/dps of Yi nor the cc/burst of Jax.. imo I wouldnt take her either

For beginnings, obvious its gotta be warwick ganks as easy as walking in and pressing R no mechanics, easy sustain and all that other stuff Now others are suggesting... fiddlesticks his sustain and clears are good but his ganks require a hell lot more thinking and Unless you wanna continue fiddles, I wouldnt think its worth figuring out how to do ganks effectively

3 easy things i've started doing this season

  • back after 3 camps, rush smite upgrade
  • kill the little jungle creeps first
  • kite jungle creeps, yes even with melee champs

Jungle has two clear roles IMO ganking and farming. Some junglers excell at one or the other some are mediocre at both etc.

When you are first starting out I think best bet is to learn with a farming jungler (I.e Warwick, Yi, Fiddle) as oppose to a ganking jungler (lee, Elise, shaco)

Understanding which smite bonuses work best on which champions is important and knowing how to recognise when someone will counter jungle you as well as how to protect against it is important.

If you're just starting out i would definitely go for Yi. Q-w-e- Then q & w. His clear speeds are very high his w gives him sustain and he is relatively low skill cap, even if you fall behind worst case scenario you split push all game. Downside to him is his ganks aren't brilliant unless enemy is extending too much and if he falls behind he's very weak

I just added you in game. I'm a jungle main, with a very large champion pool.(been trying out a ton of things since jungle update) So I can give you advice, tips, and stuff for almost any jungler that can be used. meta or non-meta.

As a jungle main, it's good to see people wanting to get into it. Personally, I take Lee Sin and Udyr into the jungle. Not just to make the babbeys cry about tier 3 champs that they think are "overpowered," and use as an excuse for their loss, but because I love them and can get creative with them. Generally each champion is different for their runes, masteries, camp clear, etc. Recently a good route to take has been to smite Gromp (Frog) early on for the poison passive, then to Blue Buff, Wolves, Red Buff, and then the rest is wandering, ganking and farming up camps. It's good to smite Raptors (Chickens) a lot so you can deny the enemy vision and wards

if you're looking for optimal rune pages, Lolking, and Probuilds are good resources. If you have some time on your hands, I highly recommend watching Foxdrop. He is a diamond ranked player who is very educational, and if you're looking for runes, masteries, and builds, he has many specific champion guides.(just make sure they are either season 4-5)

Hope I've helped! :)
