Good Starting AP mid
I want to start playing some AP mids, but I main support and I know it'll be a big jump. What are some good, cheap AP mid champs who i couuld use to learn the basics of solo laning, etc?

Try Annie. She farms well, isn't too mana hungry, and handles tanky itemization like a pro for easier learning of mid lane. She doesn't have mobility, but her burst and easy to spam stun make her a threat at all stages of the game.
Annie
, ryze
, lux
, veigar,
ziggs
These are slightly tougher to play:
ahri
leblanc
Thanks for all the tips! I can't play right now because of real life stuff, but I'll definitely pick up Annie next time I play
I learned with
. It was a long and brutal process, but paid off in the end. Now my favorite champ.
I started with those and recommend them because they're supportish mages.
Since you're a support man I assume you can ward well enough to play the less mobile champs.
In which I'd suggest

If you want to feel a little safer
are also decent choices in their own way.
Malzahar's actually pretty good, because he can mindlessly push all day with his E (it even restores mana!), he's quite strong in the current meta, and can 1v1 almost anyone.
Other than him, like people said, Annie, Ryze, Veigar are all good beginner mids. Morgana or Lux if you prefer that style of play (snares and area denial).
annie is a good starter
Annie...period...Annie, Annie, Annie. If you main support..you're probably already familiar with her. She's as cheap as it gets IP wise...she's fun to play...she's incredibly versatile and viable...not to mention her skins absolutely rock. The only other cheap mids...are Veigar, Morgana, Ryze, and Twisted Fate. Ryze isn't played mid much anymore due to his short range...Veigar's fun too. Twisted Fate...though fairly cheap at 1350..is VERY hard to play correctly so he's not the best to learn mid on.
