Winning trades... then what?

What do you do after winning a trade, may it be making your ennemy go back or killing them? In any lane. If, let's say, i'm top - Without TP - what should I do? I usually just farm until my ennemy laner comes back, and when I see them, I leave... Unless i'm too low, at which point I leave immediatly. However, I don't feel like I get that much of an advantage, especially if they made it out alive. Is that normal?

Push the lane into the tower to deny them cs, then back to buy or roam if you are in a good spot.

There are a few options that you can do here:

  1. Back and buy an item with the kill gold. This will put you slightly ahead in lane (2 or 3 kills will translate into a full item advantage,and that is when you can be called fed)
  2. Shove lane and roam.
  3. The most ideal thing you can do early is to proxy farm while your minions attack tower. So you shove your lane and once your minions start attacking your tower, you get ahead of them and kill the upcoming enemy minions. Your minions will take the tower hits. This can deny an entire wave to the opponent, which is pretty massive. Now you have at least a 500 gold advantage. You will likely hit 6 way before them, so you can all in for an easy kill.}
  4. Once you have repeated 3 long enough, their tower will go down. Now is when you can roam and snowball your lane lead into the other lanes.

Of course, always watch for ganks.

So... Shove lane & proxy if you can/back? Or, well, gank, though i'm not sure about that one... Alright.
