As A Normally Aggressive Player, Should I Buy Janna?
Being very self explanatory here. Janna is probably the best support in the game as of now and she's dirt cheap so should I buy her or will I not enjoy her?

If you want to play aggressively but like Janna, you might take a look at Nami.
You can play Janna aggressively and be k. She's low damage though, generally as Janna you're more annoying than someone who zones. Nami, Karma, Zyra better for aggressive play as you can typically zone really hard with them while still bringing utility.
She's a very defensive champ. If you don't like that playstyle you won't enjoy her.
Jana is a very dificult champ to master. There are many bad Jannas out there, its just not as easy as shooting the Q and knocking the right people up at the right time. I wouldnt recommend it, but if you got the IP why not, right? But I wouldnt spend too much time on her, there are better supports right now, like Braum, Thresh, Annie, Leona are all really solid good champs with solid CC's. For janna if you cant Ult properly, youre just gonna be useless.
I think she's pretty versatile, but just remember she deals very little damage. If you're comfortable with that, you should definitely try her out.
She is probably the least aggressive support. She is so strong because she has really good disengage plus a shield that helps the adcs who like to do short trades do so really well.
She can play aggressive like, say, Annie can play defensive but it's not her optimal situation.
As a Janna main, I often say that if I can zone people with Janna, that's pretty embarrassing for them. When I run to W + AA them for literally no damage for shit and giggles (or gold if I somehow took spellthief) and they run AWAY instead of being like "wow let's drop free dmg on Janna" or "LOL she thinks she's scary", I know I am facing people who don't know wtf is going on here.
Typically it works in lower elo where people don't know how to punish your ADC when you self-cast E to auto them, they don't know that you have the shortest possible ranged AA, and they don't know that they have roughly 14 seconds to hard-engage you if you use Howling Gale offensively (but even then you would be better off playing an actually strong poke support to better abuse their lack of knowledge).
As you climb, Janna's weaknesses as an offensive support show, and her optimal playstyle clearly becomes defensive/protective. This does not mean that she is PASSIVE - Janna does take a lot of actions, but most of them are reactive and defensive as opposed to aggressive like Annie or Leona would be doing.
That being said, she is fairly good at SUPPORTING a bully ADC via her shield and making her ADC win trades and outpoke the enemies, but on her own she doesn't do much poking/zoning/threatening/aggression.
You could buy her (as you said, you're not losing much IP) if you are looking to improve as an overall player by learning a different kind of supporting, but if your only interest is in playing aggressive all the time, she will probably bore you as she simply does not have the kit to consistently perform well in an aggressive playstyle.
For the record I am the exact opposite, I like poke supports with kite/disengage (
the occasional random
) and all in supports bore me like crazy. Nothing I hate more than waiting for the enemy to misstep, throwing a skillshot of death, getting a kill/whiffing it and waiting until another opportunity shows up.
If you want to you can play aggressive matchup depending. Take spellthief over coin, max w, ap and mpen runes. After a few points in it w starts doing some significant dmg, but you need to use qe and probably bushes to stop from getting too much return fire.
I haven't played this way since they took away cd reduction on level for w
janna is one of the hardest to play supports in the game because if you suck, and you do, shes entirely useless. also, shes one of the most aggressive supports in the game in early laning, which makes her even harder to play.
i wouldnt recommend janna for anyone below LCS
If you pick up Janna and try to play her aggressively you're going to hate her. She's the Queen of peels and is a poke/sustain style champion. The only aggressive moves you can make on Janna is the flash ult. Everything about her is about short trades or disengage. If you can learn to have patience then Janna may be more to your liking.
Janna main here!
Janna can absolutely be aggressive, however, she's naturally squishy and does not have good engage. She excels at disengage above anything, and if you don't take pleasure in dening your enemies' engages, I don't recommend her.
If you're looking for a support; anyone who has a hook (naut/thresh/blitz) or is a tank (Leona/Taric) would be more your style, I think.
If you're aggressive then I'd pick thresh over her. Both are top tier for different team comps. If Youre a good thresh you can carry. yiu can make such massive plays with him. Yesterday I was playing him and the two teams were kind of dancing in mid and I flashed over the wall Qd immediately and got the ADC. He's really fun. You can play Janna aggressive as well. If no one can engage a fight well if you flash behind the enemies and ult and fly towards your team ID say that's some decent engage especially if you have a Yasuo lol
Her strength is in her hard peel, and she's pretty much at her weakest with aggressive play. If you really need the hard peels that Janna's kit gives, Lulu isn't as amazing at it, but can play a lot more aggressive in lane with Glitterlance spam and Pix. Lulu can't teamfight reset as well, but Polymorph and Wild Growth let you protect some of your allies from one extremely dangerous enemy.
If you like to play aggressively, there are better picks than Janna. She can harass and set the pace of a lane, but there are better supports for that. Janna is worth learning though, especially when the enemy team has a hard engage comp.
ADC Janna is a possibility. If you max shield first, Go in with AS runes and know the right combo you can trade pretty unfairly with the enemy ADC. After laning phase, Janna kind of falls off.
