Tired of waiting for NA EAST? Play on LAN! A simple how-to guide.
This guide is old and will no longer work.
An upwards to 100+ ping got you feeling left out?Live on the east coast? Then look no further! Latin America North is Riot's closet server to the east coast. However the client forces you to Spanish, but you can change that pretty easily.
Here you can see an unaltered version of LAN.
Step 1
If you haven't already changed regions to Latin America North, do so now. As you can see you cannot change the language through the client itself.
Step 2
Next go to your local drive, which is probably (C:), the "Riot games" folder will be here. It will not be in Program Files.
Step 3
Once you've opened "Riot games" you're going to open the "Rads" folder next.
Step 4
The next folder you'll want to open is "system". Ignore the other subfolders as they won't be needed.
Step 5
You'll see six files, next you'll want to select "locale.cfg" Make sure you right click and select edit.
Step 6
~~A notepad will open up with the text, "locale = es_mx" ~~ ~~You're going to change that to "locale = en_us" (Obviously without the quotations.) ~~
Step 7
Once you open the launcher you'll see the Latin America North server in English.
Notes
If you change servers after these steps you'll have to follow this guide again, each time. The language will always be set to the default for that region. If you haven't created an account for LAN you can do so here.
