Very helpful tips for those that lack map awareness.

One of the best pieces of advise I ever heard from a player when I first tried moba's was: Every time you take a CS kill, look at the map, just glance at it don't stare at it like it's fine art.

Obviously, there are a few "restrictions" so to speak. Obviously if you are aware that the jungler is near your lane in the early stages of the game, why bother? Top lane is most likely top, middle is most likely middle. Could middle of roamed down? Yes. But if its not somebody with global or long range presence ( ) you probably saw them gone a few moments before (if you were continuing the habbit).

Another thing is.. if you are bottom ADC, its 25 min into game. Top and middle are missing only have vision of the other adc and your team isn't near.. Ping missing on the other lanes. maybe they caught a glimpse of the enemy somewhere in the jungle while your team is running around... They will probably inform you if you ping incorrectly, it may be a more negative response but at least you know where the enemy is =). Use pings! most of my wins are due to lots of pinging and great map awareness!

Do I personally look at minimap every time I CS? Nope. It's generally every 1-3 cs. However, I looked at the minimap after every single CS for about 30 games just to get myself in the ritual, now its something that is very natural to me. I am in no way shape or form an "amazing" player. But if I could reach bronze 3 - gold 1 after an 11 month hiatus from league, with this being the only major habit I still have from playing league of legends, and ive still been learning the newer champions and I still bump into small game mechanics for abilities or passives that I wasn't aware that got changed. I think this is what has saved my ass the most. map awareness. =) And some deaths could of been avoided if I went through and re-read all champions information, but I think dying from something I didn't know helps me remember the abilities =).
