I usually ward hop in, E to slow them, pop an auto or 2, mark them with Q, more autos, then Q again for maximum damage, It changes allot more when I get the ult and stuff, Is there any certain combos to use when i gank? or have i got it right?
that's pretty much exactly it, unless you have an easy Q to get in instead of ward hopping.
What u do is you buy 1 attack item and then go full tank while 1 shotting people with 2+ tank items because "my skillshots allow me to have retarded base damage and scaling herp derp."
walk in their face and q or just any of the scenarios you mentioned. Dont look to gain elo playing him though hes a hard champion for newer players. Hell even diamond players cant play him properly, just a heads up. And dont be the dunning kruger kid that says they can play him but had a 40% win rate thanks.
I've found it helpful to w to a allied minion or champ, than you can throw out a q at a much shorter distance. Use your e to slow and hopefully it results in a kill. That way you save your ward for a camp or a mid bush or something of that nature.
You basically have it down only other thing is if you can just walk up and e sometimes it's worth saving the w
