Looking for a second main... and more.

Hiya there, first post here, and I just had a few questions. I've played 30 matches in soloQ virtually all with Ryze and am level 10. Here are my questions:

  1. Who should I start playing next? Don't want to be only playing Ryze and have someone instalock him leaving me in the dark.
  2. Is Ryze still considered OP? I played on a friend's account back in 2012 I believe and Ryze was just key spam OPness but I heard he got nerfed hard.
  3. I've found myself a good build to work with Ryze, and was wondering if anyone could direct me to any links for how to play him and any other second champ I choose to play.

Thanks in advance guys! Cheers!

(And sorry if I posted this in the wrong spot, just direct me to the right one and I'll move over there if my level allows.)

Try to play everyone in free rotation before buying someone, and try different play styles. You never know what role (not just lane, but what to do in teamfight, etc.) you'll really like.

Honestly, and this is my opinion, if you are 10 you shouldn't even be considering what to main yet. Right now you should be playing as many different champs as possible so you can get as much knowledge as possible. This, in turn, gives you two things:

A better idea of who you WANT to main, and not just what people tell you you SHOULD main. And... A better understanding of the game as a whole.

As for better ways to play Ryze, here: General over view: http://champion.gg/champion/Ryze/Middle click top lane if you want to play top lane. Sift through these guides for player input: http://www.solomid.net/guide?champ=ryze

If you don't like solomid, I'm sure googling 'LoL Ryze guides' should give you a list of them.

As a couple of others have said, I'd recommend trying out some of the champions of the free bi-weekly rotation. Just pick one who seems pretty cool, play a game or two, and see how it goes. Try to save up enough ip for them if you like them, or move on to a different one if you don't. I've picked up so many new champs this way TwistedFate Yasuo Nasus Leona Quinn to name a few

I don't see where this is in the wrong section. :) The thing is, what you really wanna do is play other champs at least once or twice. Even if you plan on maining ryze. As for your second main. Have you spoken with our lady savior Nami ? High utility and high cc. :)

If you're new, annie.

1: Try out champs on the free rotation. I also recommend buying champions who cost low IP amounts first, and trying them out as well.

2: He was OP, then nerfed, then, recently, OP, and then, just as recently, nerfed. He hasn't really been a top pick in about 4 patches.

3: http://champion.gg/ Pick a champion, pick their role, and look at what people like to build. If you're looking for a full guide, just google "Ryze guide" and you'll find something. Just make sure it's semi-recent.

4: Don't buy runes until level 20. Only buy Tier 3 runes. This is the most important thing you could learn.

hey man i understand you have time constraints in playing league and you want to get the most out of your time and able to play a few champs extremely well. If you really like ryze then i would say go for it! If you get really good to the point where ur unstoppable who's to say that choosing one champ was a bad idea?

Now if i had to choose a second champ, i would choose a champ in another lane. Note that top and mid are usually the higher priority lanes. I wouldn't recommend jungling until later because of the necessity for runes and masteries. So that leaves you with bot lane! Hardy har.

I would say pickup an ADC. Caitlyn is an easy laner, mediocre come late game but she's easy to learn and fun!

Or pickup a support; morgana, sona, lux, and annie can all carry games out of the support position. BUT WAIT, THERES MORE (oxyclean commercial)

morgana, sona, lux and annie can all be taken into the mid lane... WHAT you might ask? Yes my friend, they're called flex picks! same as ryze can be taken mid or top, many supports can flex pick too! Which makes the support role the best bang for your buck. You can practice them in the mid lane or support.

Well.... Annie Annie is OP AF or a new champ Master Yi MasterYi is good in the jg . Ryze is not that OP he may be fun but did get hit with the nurf hammer a bit. And for a webside with builds/guides MobaFire can be a good spot for it "most of the time." there May be Troll Builds there but most of the time its fine :D Hope this help out

Second main is not another champ that u play very good , it's another role , you should have 4-5 champions on one role ( MID , ADC , Top , JUngle,Supp) and one or 2 more roles that u can play , I main jungle but can play ADC and Supp too so you will be able to play another role when mid is already taken.
