I hate going against Vayne, and I have no idea how to counter her. I get that you gotta poke early, but I find that hard as her q makes it really hard to land anything on her, even if I'm right next to her. And supports like Zyra or Blitz make it even harder to kill Vayne, because if you get close they'll destroy you. Tips for dealing with Vayne? Pre 6 and when fed, too.

If you are going a tank buy Atk speed reduction items (frozen heart/Randuin)
She is relatively short range, so having an ADC that can outrange her like Ezreal can harass her from afar and keep her zoned. As a support, what Derpy said, basically just watch the wave and try to harass her while she last hits. If she last hits, she takes damage. If she hits you, then she misses the CS. Win win either way.
Abuse her early before she starts scaling. If you feed her early it's gg.
If you are the support, just make sure you keep track of your dying minions. If she goes for last hit, punish her. Especially if you're blitzcrank, pre-6 she is so weak that one grab is a kill for your ADC. After level 6, you have to make sure the river is warded before you try to trade with her (it's so bad when their jungler appears just as you are about to kill her), try to bait her ult (if you're Leona, try engaging, and disengaging immediately after she uses her ult) and wait until she doesn't have it, then trade with her. Also, make sure you build a Randuim or a Frozen Heart (Frozen Heart is better in my opinion), as it slows her AS, making it harder for her to proc her passive.
ADC Counterpicks are Jinx and Kog'maw for Hyper-Carries. Lucian and Graves for being complete lane bullies. Quinn and Varus for niche picks. Yasuo for anti-meta.
As someone who only plays nid jungle and I go to gank her and crush her with my spear then go to pounce on her, and that dam knock back everytime. I hate ganking vayne. almost as bad as teemo up top after lvl 6 when I know its a landmine field up there
Waveclear. Shove her in because she kills minions really slowly compared to most ADCs. Then use the pressure generated from your minions to siege. She does poorly in poke/sieges and is only really good in hard engages.
