Want help on how to play Kassadin

I joined League in August and Kassadin is one of the first champions I got. My problem is I cannot play him well enough to contribute anything to my team. In layman's terms, I suck. I love playing Kassadin, I really do, but I don't play him any more because I always feel like a burden to my own team. I just finished the intro level bots with 1 kill and 11 deaths. I just want to know how people are playing him successfully. What is everyone else doing that I can't seem to figure out. If you have questions on how I play him do not hesitate to ask, I need the criticism to know what I'm doing wrong.

I would assume your problem is overcommitting. It's okay to use your rotation to harass. Take as little damage as possible, win trades.

Don't go in first, once people start going all in and killing people, maybe just count to 2 or 3 seconds in your head, go in burst the squishy champs and then get out. The reason for this is because once all of there team blows all of their abilities instantly (which most silvers and below do) you become only susceptible to auto attacks and you should really just be able to 100-0 their adc or apc, lso don't play kassadin till he get buffs again. His ult is getting a shorter cd and a longer range soon, other than that he's junk right now just wait to play him. After looking at your match history, you might want to learn the correct summoners to take.
