Hit level 30 2-3 weeks ago, lets talk Ranked. (HELP ME PLEASE)

So I got level 30 2-3 weeks ago.

Before I hit Lv30, I had my 2 basic AD and AP rune pages finished. I had 13 champs. For the next week, I grinded out the game, until I had 16 champs.

The week after I got all my 16 champs, I started playing ranked. I played 2 ranked games with my friend who was silver 3. I usually play normals with him and carry the team w/ him for some free IP. But in ranked, I had a different type of play. I didn't want to feed, or do that dumb shit people get mad at you for. During these games, I played very safe, lost the CS score against my opponent significantly, and I felt very trapped because I was scared I was going to get ganked. I found my self not carrying the game, but more so with a score line of for example, 1-2-6. I felt like I wasn't really contributing to the team because everyone else had much more experience than me. I main mid, so being the one with a not so impacting score felt very difficult and hard.

A week after, I started a thread on the LoL website. Some Gold 3 dude added me, we played 2 matches together, and the same type of gameplay was put out by me as the other ranked games. I wasn't the AP carry, more so the guy that would trail behind the teamfights despairingly chucking skillshots to get assists. I lost my lane probably 3/4 ranked games I have played so far.

I did some more forum scouting. Some are saying, "Play ranked if you have the motivation to do it". Others said, "Don't play ranked right away unless you want bronze". I'm stuck between 'I want to get better fast and play better people' and 'I want to get a decent starting rank, like Silver 2-1'.

What should I do? So far, my ranked placement games are 2/2, and I know that the first 5 games are the most important. I have around 180-190 normal blind pick wins. My champion pool honestly a pretty challenging pool for some might say.

The harder champs I main are Leblanc TwistedFate Yasuo

The easier champs I main are Nidalee Annie Akali

What should I do? I consider myself better than others that just got Lv30. I usually have the most game sense in normals, but I know, normals doesn't mean shit. My champion pool allows me to play other roles. I also play Tris when I'm stuck with ADC. I can play basically any role except jungle.

-Should I continue playing blind picks until I have "X" amount of wins? -Should I play normal draft pick? -Should I play normal draft pick until "X" amount of wins? -Should I play until I have "X" amount of rune pages? -Should I just get a very reliable teammate or a smurf and play DuoQ for the rest of my placement matches?

If you wanna play just add me IGN: Focuhsing

I need some help, tips, tricks, all you LCS SKT T1 Faker Korea Pentakiller Lv1 Baron Destroyers know the drill. Thanks! -Focus

You might want to get more champions and learn jungle. If you want to keep playing ranked anyway, just pretend their normals and do your best.

As a person who jumped straight into Ranked confident only to get AFK's literally all 10 games, (I remember it like yesterday... much sorrow) I say just do what you can. If you get B5, whelp, just grind it out and learn as much as you can.

Well, firstly, don't be so paranoid about CS'ing. Try not to accept poke but get as much CS as you can. If you need to recall after awhile, just push out the lane and then go and heal up, but items, get back to lane.

As for getting ganked... you shouldn't be getting ganked. Keep the lane frozen. If you don't know what that means, it means literally just last hit minions so the wave pulls toward your tower. It will keep you very safe from ganks. After that, just make sure to get a ward down at the main ganking point early. At bot lane Blue Team, right next to the tribush in the river, it covers both the river and tribush so the jungler can't gank from either unless they try to go around the dragon pit, into your jungle, and to the tribush, which should be warded if the mid laner is playing it right. And make sure to get wards, even if you're the carry. Buy some item 2044 and item 2043. Especially pinks, if you have 100 extra gold and don't have a pink on the map, you're playing wrong.

Here's some good ward spots that will help you and your team: Top and bottom in the river by the tribush, or if you get a pink ward, put it in the tribush then put your normal ward by the opening to the jungle for maximum coverage. That fills like 1/2 of the river as well as Baron late game. Mid in the small bush, and by the opening to the jungle(where the birds are), or possibly in the tri-crossing next to the birds. The bush behind red is also good for pink wards(and normal wards, but nobody really passes that bush much so it probably won't be destroyed) as well as the small bush in the river(though that one will be passed a lot and can easily be seen and destroyed). In the jungle in the tri-crossing by the Blue Buff and Gromp, by the Red Buff either right in the bush next to Red Buff or in the bush across from it by the wall, or sometimes just in the middle of those two. Just that general area, you get the picture. Lol.

Don't be afraid to go back as an ADC and get a Pickaxe over a B.F. Sword, or as a mage a Needlessly Large Rod over a Blasting Wand or if you're rushing Zhonya's a Seeker's Armguard or Luden's an Aether Wisp. You don't need to rush those early things if you feel like you should B so you don't die.

And most of all, the most very important thing, the main thing that wins game and the people that use it actually have a 25%-ish higher win rate than those who don't... BE NICE. Do not be toxic. Ever. Under any circumstances are you to be toxic. It accomplishes nothing. Help your teammates out and give them advice? Sure, not being toxic. Scold your teammates for being stupid and not doing something right? Hell no, better to keep your mouth shut. Even if someone is being a dick to you that isn't an excuse to be a dick back. An eye for an eye only makes the whole world blind.

If you want some tips, go to YouTube and look up stuff like Scurb's Tips 4 Bronze or Tips 4 Gold, or other kind of guides that help you with the basics.

Also, go to a custom game alone, with no bots, and just CS. CS CS CS. Get all the CS you can and do that until you can successfully get at least 275 CS or so at 30:00-ish minutes. That will win you your lane in Bronze so hard, heck even Silver. You'll have such a big gold lead and it will be awesome. 20 CS is the equal to one kill, so having 200 CS might as well be 10 kills.

After you've got that down, get a bot, or maybe a friend in the game, and practice CS'ing with harassment, counter-harassment, and so on. And through all that time, try to freeze the lane and pull it toward your tower, but just under tower, not in, else it will push back out and you may lose CS.

Also try to play games with an AD champ and an AP champ, try doing games with using your abilities to CS, some with your AA's. Heck, if you do a lot of Yasuo, train with him and try to farm using only your E while still not getting in range for the enemy to poke you. That's so extremely useful because your base E damage is really good and the cooldown is a lot less than your AA's or Q's at early levels.

I see you favor mid.

Just remember this is one of the more contested roles.

Like the person below said. Try to try out more champions in other roles. Figure out who you enjoy playing and what roles you like.

I like ADC, Support and Top.

I tried to jungle, and mid.. many times, but I just don't belong there. Everyone's playstyle is different.

I'd Suggest to do your best to find yourself in 3/5 of the roles. The 3 you do your best in are your mains. It helps to have more then 1 champion for that role.

You seem to be all set for mid!

As far as X amount of wins go. I would Suggest you either get 500 normal wins... OR.. 5 pentakills.

Two full runepages are the minimum for ranked. having an AD and AP page is most basic.

For Duo que, Find a friend who also preforms at your level. Sometime's it's best to not be placed too high, You're the one who has a long road of climbing. Not so you can piggyback on someone.

Lastly my most important tip for you...

Have fun. Don't worry about where you are placed. If your team does bad. (Everyone has bad games) Just have fun and enjoy your experiences. I you see a teamate having trouble, try to help them instead. If your fed, see if you can help the nest best person get as fed. Help your support with some warding by upgrading your trinket. (They say the upgrade is like half a sightstone for only 250 gold trust me it helps!) and buy a pink every now and then. Sometimes people on the enemy team ignore/don't notice a good placed pink. (Put it in a bush most people don't think to go in, behind the red buff OR beside the blue buff always seems to be a good place for me) Look up a warding tips video for more help.

Look up a lot of helpful videos. League may require skill, but that skill is almost all mental. and people with negative mindsets have trouble improving. Which is why I told you to just have fun and enjoy your experiences. try to think positive. If you die, think about what happened and what you can do to prevent it from happening again , plan ahead, build items accordingly.

Lux Stay positive!

You should try to learn jungle and try to practice a bigger champion pool so that incase anythings banned out you will have extra backup champs.

As you move up ranked you will see it is less essential that someone "carries" and more that your team is getting overall fed and winning objectives. If you are mid and are losing lane, ask for a gank or roam to another lane (bot's always good) and help your teammates win their lanes. Laning phase ends a lot faster the higher you move up in elo, so losing your lane doesn't really mean a whole lot.

I'd learn the other roles, get practice on them but do not try the high skill capped for your non - mained roles. For instance I'm a support/ Jung main, I can take what ever champ I feel comfy on for that match up in those roles. But when I get put some where outside of those lets say mid for my case I default to Malz and Annie (easy to play). I wouldn't play LeBlanc or Zed in mid (because I'm not Faker or Bjerg). Basically play champs that play themselves for your non - mained roles.
