This account is only lvl 12, but I made a new account that's lvl 4 atm. And it feels like pvp at lvl 4 or 5 is more difficult than pvp at lvl 12, probably because everyone's a smurf (I do no dmg and I get slaughtered lol)
So the question is, should I keep making new accounts in order to play against smurfs to improve my gameplay?
What rank are smurfs' main usually at around lvl 5? bronze? silver?
DWT123452 votesthe smurfs that come from bronze and silver are the ones who think they got screwed and were put bronze because of their teamates, and think that lvling an account up to 30 and taking promos all over again would be easier than climbing up.
The smurfs from Plat and Diamond are your typical Plat players with the bloated egos who beat up new players easy.
The smurfs from gold just do it bc they are bored.
I would recommend that you just lvl up to 30 and than if you feel like making a smurf, do it.

Alot of people smurf so they can play new champions without the pressure of having to play against players that are way more skilled in that role than you are able to play. Nobody goes into the game to just shit on idiots or they would be higher ranked faster anyways.

T RexHasTinyArms2 votesJust level to 30. Even a mid elo player who is on an alt account (gold, maybe high silver since that's like top 1/3 of the ladder i think, maybe?) will go up pretty quick. The reason you're playing harder people on completely fresh accounts is because they haven't moved up, or they are low elo players who are trying to beat up on new players. Focus on getting to level 30 because it is such a huge difference to have runes/masteries, and even bronze level players are stronger than most new players. If you're wondering about strength, jump into the intermediate bots, from my experience (started the season bronze III) intermediate bots are maybe close to the level of difficulty you'll find against low bronze players. The bots are predictable so if you exploit that they're way easier, but if you aren't predicting bot behavior and just think about mechanical skill of the bots, and their ability to trade and fight, I'd say it's low bronze level. Get to where you can play intermediate bots games and consistently get 10-20 kills and no deaths. (Then you're probably bronzish level play, with a general knowledge base of the game and a solid foundation to really focus on improving in PVP.)
Biggest thing is just to focus on what you can do better each game, and what you did right that you need to keep doing. The game will move you to the skill level you need to be at, so it'll balance out eventually. (I played from bronze III to gold this season, and have a second account from leveling w/ a friend that was also bronze from my placements, and I really struggled in bronze at the start of the season, but am like 20-2 since jumping back down in elo just because I focused on getting better. Which is crazy considering I'm really not good, and just wanted to put the second account where it will get end of season rewards and then work on improving my play so I can consistently beat gold level games.

T RexHasTinyArms1 votesFind some thing you absolutely love playing and are willing to learn. It is easier to lean if you are interested and happy because your brain engages the material more readily.
In season three I mained jungle and absolutely loved nunu jungle. I learned jungle route, the timing that most jungles were able to make their first clear on, the exact strength I needed to solo baron early, how to identify strong lanes that I should get fed so they would carry me, basically just learned a whole lot about the jungle. I also watched YouTube videos of nunu jungle and focused on what I could be doing better each game, learning how to invade more often and die less, and enjoyed it the whole time. I went from bronze to gold that season and absolutely crushed every game I got nunu jungle until I hit high silver low gold level.
Season 4 I didn't find any thing I really liked and tried to practice stuff but didn't just love anything and really want to practice so I didn't get any better and stayed silver all season. I burned out and took a while off after that.
I started this season so out of practice that I placed two accounts in bronze (second one is from leveling up with a friend who learned to play) and then fell in love with heimer and just played him a ton learning something every game. Getting good at auto attack harass, then better ward placement and awareness to avoid ganks since I'm always pushed top lane, then using my ult at level 6 to consistently dive and get a kill under tower while living. Also objective control is huge. Started playing heimer and nunu recently on the second account to rank it up fast and am like 20-2 in recent games because my heimer is so much better than it used to be, and I know how much damage I do for baron and dragon and have better vision control so we win with that a lot. Last game I played heimer bot lane (I won't adc bc I don't like it) and mid fed hard early but we won eventually in large part because we got 2 barons and something stupid like 7 dragons (50 minute game).
T RexHasTinyArms1 votesA simpler more generic answer is there are two primary broad skill categories you can get better in and getting good in either one will get you to low gold level even if you aren't very strong in the other.
The first is mechanics. Getting good at near perfect cs, orb waking, proper combo order and item active usage, gauging damage and trading really well. You get good enough and you can out play low elo and get super fed literally every single game and that will give you enough of an advantage you win more than you lose pretty easily.
The second is game knowledge or macro play. Knowing where/when to ward, what to do with that info in terms of calls, when to split push vs when to group, when you can take a tower or should leave it up so it kills cs to deny the enemy while you take drag or roam to another lane to gank, that sort of stuff. You won't get fed as often, but a clutch call to sneak baron bc you have it pinked and saw their jungle and adc bot lane at 20 can build a huge lead for your team with that baron power so you don't need to be as fed bc you win more than you lose just by making good calls.

Toothierosprey31 votesLevels 4-5 and 12 are more or less the same. There are smurfs, and their skill levels don't differ as much from lv 4-12. You probably got unlucky on your level 4 account and went against a gold or silver smurf.

Level 0 Magikarp1 votesNope, doesn't matter what level you're at, you'll come across really good people/people who are smurfing anyway. So if you want to improve, I think you just need to level up your main account since smurfs level fast anyway (winning games give more exp).

AlphaKappaPika1 votesand also, you should probably just go ahead and level your account to 30, and start playing against people at that level, even though these people are bronze/silvers, they are kinda crappy bronze/silvers most of the time, and I would have to say quite a bit of them are bronze 3-5, which imo is basically worse than being unranked (skill wise) and when you get matched against an actually good player, you will just get ROLFstomped without really knowing what happened. Dont keep making new accounts, just level yours to 30, find a main role, find a main champion, do consistently well, and then play ranked.

Onegarion1 votesOne thing I found out when I made my smurf is when i started I answered differently when they asked the question of how well you know the game and answered low knowledge on this account and answered higher knowldege on the smurf (don't know exact answers) making me play against better players by default.
As others have said don't keep making smurfs because you won't keep playing against good players all the time. Eventually you play against the same people and will stagnate.
Also there is no set lvl for smurf mains. There is no give away by attitude or anything.
