Any tips for playing Heimerdinger late game?

Heimerdiner is my all-time favorite champion. He makes terrible puns, constantly references The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and the tooltip of the buff you get upon using his ult is a Daft Punk reference. I love his playsyle, and overall- he's an awesome champ.

There's just one problem...

No matter how fed I am, no matter what items I have, I ALWAYS fall off late game. My friends have told me that Heimerdinger can be an absolute beast late game, but I usually end up just screwing up and feeding. Does anyone have any tips to improve my late game?

I used to main Heimerdinger when fed you need to set up turrets in prime positioning for example place turrets when in mid lane in a triangle one turret in front and 2 turrets on each side. Place them out to cover most of the lane. While turrets do the work and your team goes in play in the back and clean up with W. Ult with Q when team is in trouble and needs help and when team is doing well ult with W to get kills. Do not play up front he is very squishy. Also while playing from the back stun with your E to help team get kills and get advantage.

If you fight on a lane, your turrets (except your big one) will just get anhialated in the AoE and the poke. I suggest jungle/chokepoint fights or purchasing a vision ward trinked and just waiting in a bush until someone just comes along and dies instantly. A one man advantage makes wonders lategame. Also, you can have insane objective control with your turrets, so you can also get some easy dragons and barons.
