I've been in need of a good tank in top lane for a while now, and both 
and 
have caught my eye. I played Dr. Mundo a fair amount during last weeks free Champ rotation and I enjoyed him a lot, but I've been hearing many good things about Sion for a while now and am having some trouble deciding between the two. What are your opinions? Which champion do you think I should get?
Champion wise > Sion team utilities is far superior than mundo. He is able to peel better and doesn't suffer from the horrible early game mundo has to go, while still able to scale quite well thanks to the passive on his shield. The only real reason to play mundo over sion competitively is either because you enjoy playing him or you are against an AP top laner since 
works better on mundo as first item than sion.

Sion. In virtually every way except damage comparisons super late game, Sion is going to operate more smoothly. No weak early phase where you have to hope to last hit with cleavers... instead ridiculously good waveclear with the bonus reward of getting free health from it. Plus he can go top or jungle with equal ease, and has better mobility. Both can be played around, but it's just much easier to make Sion work over Mundo
Sion is better in so many ways its not funny.
Sure Mundo's passive and ult make him a great sponge... but thats all he is. Sion can take it, AND dish it.
Get Gnar though. He's basically Sion 2.0' Stuns longer, stuns faster, better burst health, long range slow skillshot
