If you kill your opponent, always just expect their jungler to come and "cover" for them, as they get some easy CS and maybe a kill as you are most likely low health/ult on CD, at least early game, maybe not so much late game if you are fed and just burst them down.
As LeaugeSrsBsns said, ward one side and hug that side. As an additional note to that, it is best to make that side the one that your turret is closer to, as that makes it a shorter distance to retreat to that tower, rather than having to cross the width of the lane (and possibly getting hung up on minions) to get under cover.
If you kill your opponent and get a full wave pushed to their tower, that is a good time to either B or invade a lane to get your team mates fed. Vice versa, if you get killed and dont see your opponent pushing your tower on the map and they had a decent amount of health/mana, ping them MIA and let your team mates know, as that is when they may be heading ganking your allies.
As with any role, map awareness is key. If you kill your opponent, and can see everyone else in their lanes, and their jungler is in one of those lanes ganking your team mates, if you cant help that fight, then that is a good time to get some dmg on their turret.
