Upgrade gold item or get SS?

Just a random question, when I play as a support, should i get Sightstone or upgrade my gold item when i only have the gold for one of these two things?

You should rush your boots and sightstone first.

If you have enough for SS, get it. Also, as soon as you get SS, switch your trinket to the red trinket.

Sightstone. The sight is more helpful than slight extra gold.
