So I'm just starting to learn top and i'm about to get to level 30 and going to do rank team with my friends. I NEED HELP. What are some really good unexpected or common TOP LANERS.

Generally any tank is really good top rn if you get cinderhulk, but also 
My first recommendation is to not go into ranked immediately after hitting level thirty, but if it is with a team you might be fine.
Maokai is a fairly safe pick for top lane and brings a lot of tankiness and crowd control. Singed is a heck of a lot of fun, but requires a slightly different strategy than most champs. Urgot has always been my favorite top laner, but he certainly doesn't fit every team composition. Sion is super popular right now, so he might be worth a look. I think Shyvana has shifted back into popularity at high levels for her ability to push waves and counter-jungle. Mundo goes where he pleases, usually top lane. Swain is an absolute beast if he gets ahead, and is seen in both top and mid. Nasus will always be popular and effective if you are any good at last-hitting. Trundle is a good counter to tanks. Pantheon is a lane bully, but falls off late if he does not snowball out of control. Shen and Rumble can both be very good on a coordinated team, but can be a little tricky in solo queue. Volibear is a bear and Jax hits things with a lamp post because he can.
Mao, Hecarim, Lissandra, Ryze, Rumble, renekton, Gnar, irelia, Jax, J4, Sion, Mundo, Shyvanna, Riven (not recommended because of mechanic complexity) Gragas.
This is just a list of tops I play on the multiple teams I am on. Only reason Riven is on there is because soloQ I am a Riven main, so my comfort on her lets me play her well into lots of different comps. Lulu top is also good for protect the hyper carry comps, but takes getting used to.
Is pretty decent. I like using him to force my opponent under their tower and still take it down without a problem. He's also really good at managing a lvl2 before your opponent assuming you want to really make them cry.
