I'm new (3 days) and have almost 3000 IP……

Just wondering what to look for in my first champ?

I know it's a personal thing, but I know there are easy champs and difficult ones.

I do like ranged, but assassin looks cool.

Any advice would be helpful.

Ash (spelling) looks interesting.

Honestly, when I was just starting out I kept buying champions thinking I'd like them, only to start disliking them almost immediately afterwards. I eventually settled in on Teemo for a long time, but I think I bought Ashe , Sivir , maybe even Fiddlesticks and Elise before him.

I think everyone looks around for a while before finding that first champion that really clicks with them. For my wife it was Sona , for one friend it was Amumu , for another it was Poppy. Don't expect your first buy to be the one you'll use all the time, just think of them like a constant champion you could use week to week.

At lower levels make use of the fact that players aren't good yet in your matches and try out a variety of Champions using the free rotation if you can (I regret never playing top Lane at lower levels because now I'm hopeless there).

Do NOT buy any runes until level 20 when you can get Tier 3 (I know you didn't ask but it's Good advice in general). Aim to save around 10k ip for when you hit 20 so you can load up on decent runes at 20 (only a suggestion, they're not needed until 30 so splurge on more champions if you want).

For champions, I liked to start cheap (450ip or 1350ip) unless I really liked someone I played for free. Good examples are Annie, Ashe, Warwick, kayle, jax, master yi, dr. Mundo, Morgana, and Evelynn.

Note you can get 3 champions, tristana (adc) , alistar (support) and garen (top) for free WITH A FREE SKIN by liking/following/subscribing to league of legends on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube if you so choose (you can search how on league of legends home page).

Hope this helps!

My first champion was Diana Diana , and, I love her. Good Assassin and has the capability to Jungle too. Ashe Ashe I think was my first ADC. She's cheap and easy to use; it's a good pick, though she's not one of the most competitive ADC's right now but you don't need to worry about that at this time.

I would save your IP and play champions who are on free week. When you find one who you really like, buy them! An alternative is to just start buying at the cheapest (450 IP) champs and try them out until you find one you like :)

As ValyrianBlade said, don't waste your IP on runes until you hit lvl 20.

Just buy and learn leblanc and you'll be good till you hit mid-high gold. Then you have to try.

I played almost only kayle when I was a low level and had a lot of success with her.

Idk what you would like but I'll give you some champs i have fun with

Mid:Syndra(Burst Mage) Diana (mage/assassin) AlsoAkali(mage/Assassin) Fizz(Mage/Assassin) are easy and good carries for new people

The cheepest one here is Akali at 3150 so i recommend her as a good assassin choice

I would save for a little longer and look into NidaleeNidalee . She's is both ranged and melee and does an impressive amount of burst.

Full disclosure: I don't actually own Nidalee but a friend does, and she is so annoying to play against.
