How to CS as an adc?

Hi :). I main Sivir but I'm not really sure as to how to CS with her. My aa seems to be quite delayed so I miss a lot of my CS. Also, when I hit a minion, it usually drops down to like one bar but it doesn't die. Is this a glitch in my game (the delayed aa) or is there a skill which you need to use for csing. Help would be appreciated!Sivir

You just have to time it right. I don't think there is a trick to it, she just might have an attack animation that is hard to get used to (try Swain sometime :P).

You can also last hit with Q, but that's on higher levels. Early levels you need to master the autoattacks. Go and create a custom game and try to last-hit all minions on one lane.

I think the only thing you can do to improve is PRACTICING.

I know some people already mentioned it but the best way to practice cs is to go to practice in custom games.

But here's what I do when I feel my csing is very weak with certain champs:

  1. I set up a custom game with no bots whatsoever. Just me. For 20 minutes, I focus solely on last hitting. No going for turrets or jg camps. Just focus on getting familiar with how low a minion's hp bar has to be for my aa to deal enough damage to kill it (first I click on them to see how much hp they have left a few times and then I try to 'blind it' by just going with their health bar). After the 20 minute mark, I write down the amount of minions I killed and leave the game. I then repeat the process a few more times and see how it goes. When you start getting 150 minions or more then I say you are starting to get it down nicely. Also remember to turn of your auto attack in your options, it'll help.

  2. After a few solo tries, I add 1 single intermediate level bot. I don't trade with them at first, I only go for minions. I add them just so that I can have some added pressure since bots like to go aggro at random. After a few tries of that and you get the comfortable 150+ by the 20 minute mark I'd say you are very set for normal/ranked games with that champion, but you can try full teams or 2v1 lanes if you really want to have added challenge.

Also consider that your csing can also be affected on how aggressive the enemy laners are. Sometime's you can't farm because they are going ham and their jungler is camping you.

i usually have the problem with cs early levels as adc because my damage output is really low but after my first back i always make sure to buy some damage so its easier

Get lots of attack damage marks and quints. Then you'll get the kill on all those minions you almost killed. Actually very helpful and recommended for players that have trouble last hitting since the extra gold you'll get from the more last hits will greatly increase your chances of winning.

I have tried practising my CS in custom games and I do pretty well there (approx 100 CS by 20 mins) but the minute I enter a normal game I only get 80 CS in 20 minutes, which really sucks. I'm too poor to unlock Swain for now xD. However, is there a generalised diagram or something to show you when to last hit a minion? Because I always seem to *slightly *miss my CS.

use da butcher mastery. that helps with csing early.

also, remember that your damage doesnt actually apply to the minion till your projectile hits it. get used to that timing.

It really is just a lot of practicing.

Thank you for the suggestions. Keep the comments coming. :) I tried turning off Sivir's AA and it worked a little for me. As for runes, I will buy some as soon as I have enough money.

I would try to play a few custom games with no one else and just practice last hitting to get the timing of the auto attack animation down. Once you do this try to figure out how much dmg you need to be able to last hit under your turret with the tower doing 2 hits to fighter minions and 1 hit to caster minions. When I play Ezreal I tend to buy 2 long swords on my first back because that puts me just over the dmg I need to be able to do this. CS is the most important thing in this game. If you cant get the money to buy items you will be worthless completing 1 item after 25 mins while your enemy is sitting there with 2 and a half.

With Sivir you should also figure out if you want to push the lane or not. If not dont use your spells on minions. You can just sit there last hitting and if the enemy tries to push the lane to your turret you can lower the minions with AAs then use your Q to take down the entire wave so it doesn't get to your turret.

Its purely on you. Attack Speed runes and Attack Damage runes help. As well as the Butcher mastery [must have on ADC]. Maybe try using your skills as well as AA - the ricochet and boomerang timed right are great for clearing waves.

If you're newer to the game make sure you turn your auto attack off in options- game options, then try to last hit :)
