Finally brought up enough confidence to finally say this! A LOT of games I go in that's PVP, I see people try to go Urgot or those other underplayed champions and my teammates are like, NO! Choose someone else! Or That champion is bad! Well I'm sick of it, truly sick of it! Those who are told that, DON'T listen to them, they're not you! Play who you want to. (Unless it's ranked, but hey, your decision there too.) Like, I LOVE to play even AFTER his huge E nerf! For me, it doesn't matter IF they say the champion is bad! Play who you want to and enjoy it!!! It's YOUR account is NOT theirs! And yeah! I play still and I'm proud of it! Like i always say! It doesn't matter if the champion is bad, what matters is your skill with it and how much you love to play the champion! Again! YOUR CHOICE! NOT theirs! Be proud of who YOU want to play!

My problem is that as much as i love certain champions and if i did decide to say screw it and play it, I would have to listen to all the negative comments from my team mates the duration of the game regardless of how well we were doing. A perfect example is in season 3 where I played Zilean occasionaly. Back then, I couldn't even pick him without negative responses and the game itself was negative regardless of outcome. We won? oh good zilean didn't hold us back that much. We lost? freaking zilean lost us the game.

I'd love to play any champ I want to, but being gung-ho about it won't increase (and in most cases will decrease) the amount of fun I will have in a game.

Yes, this is totally true. However, in a ranked game, it is much more important to pick a champion that complements your team comp, and not pick Shaco jungle in a teamfight heavy team comp that needs an engage jungler for example just because you like playing him.

Sure, it's not like you can't win with that comp. But I never have fun with a double assassin comp on my side.

Both are you are going for extremes here.

One of you purely wants to benefit the team at the detriment to your own FUN, while the other completely neglects the needs of the TEAM in a TEAM game.

If you're not having fun, chances are you're not very great with your champion you're forced to play (hence why I rarely play Support, that role's a piss off).

There should be a middle-ground. You can't only be good at literally only a single champion (especially someone like Shaco) in a Ranked game, what if your team needs an ADC? In this case, while you probably shouldn't play Shaco if your team lacks an initiator, you owe it to your team to atleast pick a bulkier champion at the very least. Or someone capable of making picks. Or atleast not a champion in a class that is the complete opposite that your team needs.

You've got this core assumption that playing what you know how to play is about fun, which I never said or implied. You are going to play much better playing something you know how to play rather than playing something that 'fits into the comp' or 'counters' who you are against in lane. Playing Jax vs Fiora means nothing if you don't know how to play Jax.

I agree with you. My point was that if you know how to play Jarvan and Shaco for example, don't pick Shaco because you feel like to when your team needs someone like Jarvan to fit in the team comp.

Thanks for the Jax vs Fiora bit. Fiora is one of my mains and I have gotten quite a few people pick Jax because of my pick. It is easy to see which ones know how to use Jax or fight me and which ones don't. For those picking solely because "Jax hard counters Fiora," their team often rages when Jax gives me food.

i <3 to play the champions that is easy and those who are superior but hard to play, but if i play an easy chapion like Teemo or Jax i always get's blamed and stuff and if i play an champion that is hard to play like Kalista or Zed i get's blamed for doing it wrong. so i just play the easy and non powerful champions like Ashe or Rammus . it ends up i just get blamed anyway -_-. 75% of all my game looses is somehow my fault, so i just play Aram so i won't get blamed for the champion i get.

I would rather have someone playing a champion that's "UP" that they dominate with, than an "OP" champion that they either haven't played before, suck at, or are just playing because they're considered strong.

I won my first match on the new Summoner's Rift yesterday in Team Builder. I played Skarner. Skarner's my favorite, but so many people hate him lately. It was a great game. I think some of those players re-evaluated their feelings on Skarner.

I always get sh!t stomped for picking Ashe then end up with a 12/1/4 score mid game while whoever protested my use of Ashe is usually negative and losing their lane.

What most people fail to realize is that especially at lower levels, you are going to do better on a "worse" champion that you are more proficient with than on an OP champion you are not.

Whenever anyone asks what they should play, I just tell them, "Whatever you're best with."

Yup,it's not about playing popular,balanced,completely meta picks that you're the best at (in anything besides Ranked,though you still can there.........but,people........)

It's about playing the champs you like regardless of your skill with them,how popular they are,no matter how "broken" or "balanced" they maybe,how much they adhere to the current meta.If you find them fun,then that's all the reason you need to choose to buy & play them.

People say Katarina is broken & require no skill to play?Doesn't matter,you like her because she's a badass hot red head. Everyone hates Teemo ?Doesn't matter,you already signed you contract with the Devil. No one plays Urgot because he's ugly?Doesn't matter,you are very skilled with him

If you're new to the champ & their play style,just practice & get better.

Please note:This ISN'T an excuse to troll,especially in ranked.You'll ruin people's games that way,unless you're playing with friends or something.

Why would people complain... Elise is extremely good regardless of the nefs she got, and the same goes for Kha'zix (who plays much more like an actual squishy assassin now instead of a tank behemoth damage dealer who stealths on top of all that). A lot of the champions that aren't played as much aren't bad, they just aren't in the forefront of the meta-game so they aren't played as much, but that doesn't mean they are bad, nor does that mean people should complain about it. Although, you can't deny some champions are severely worse than others and are needing of a serious update/overhaul of some kind.

It feels like a brutal cycle. I play as an unpopular champion I love, and I get yelled at for not playing an "OP" ( Katarina , Yasuo , Akali ) champion. I play an "OP" champion for the first time and don't immediately own with them, and I get yelled at for being a noob.

I don't want to disagree with that, but I have to give one exception. Team comps still matter, so you have to find a team your champ works with. I'm posting this since I really like playing Malzahar . However, since pushing comps are really unpopular in tb, playing him is bound to be frustrating since pushing alone will only get you ganked. I believe making plays is possible even on the most underrated champs, but if you want to have fun or win, try to find comps they fit in.

You never lose a game in champ select in soloq queue. You NEVER EVER EVER lose because the other team had better champs, you lose because you got outplayed. People need to understand that you don't have to play what the pros are playing. The pros are pros for a reason.

On the subject of Talon, I remember some of my friends were complaining about how bad he was up right up to the point Voyboy(I think?) played him in the LCS. I'm not saying that every champ is equal, but personal skill is by far the most important factor.

You see issue is,and maybe it's just me,but I also like winning.

Riot does beyond a horrendous job at balancing,I've tried playing champions that I actually like,and they all felt miserable,do you know how fun it is losing to a terrible opponent simply over a pick? Not fun at all.

Just save yourself the trouble and play overpowered nonsense like everyone else does,it's not like the balance of this game gives you much of a choice.

Against Lucian? Not Likely, as his mobility comes from a dash, not base movement.

Stop claiming that you're enemy is op. Compare your kit to theirs. I bet that if that one underplayed champ cant beat them, there is one that CAN be them. Provided you are skilled enough :)
