Hey guys, since Irelia is free this week I've decided to try her and I really like playing with her. But when it's time to do combos, I get a bit overwhelmed when I try to gap-close with Q and try to AA.
So, my question is, do you guys smartcast with Irelia? If so, how do you do it because it seems easier to q with smartcast but harder to get the minion with it in a whole bunch.

smartcast with range indicators until you get used to it if youre having too much difficulty. those will give you a better idea of how the targeting works. just know you wont use the skill til you release the key with that on, so its a little slower
Honestly, I smart cast everything.
Precise clicking is the key here, nothing else can really be done. it's pretty easy to mess it up and lose the q reset, trust me, I've done that plenty of times.
She just takes practice. But boy the power spike she gets with the trinity.
Yes, definitely startcast her Q. Like everything, she just takes practice, you'll get her :)
