Hey guys, since Irelia is free this week I've decided to try her and I really like playing with her. But when it's time to do combos, I get a bit overwhelmed when I try to gap-close with Q and try to AA.
So, my question is, do you guys smartcast with Irelia? If so, how do you do it because it seems easier to q with smartcast but harder to get the minion with it in a whole bunch.

Darkwind3 votessmartcast with range indicators until you get used to it if youre having too much difficulty. those will give you a better idea of how the targeting works. just know you wont use the skill til you release the key with that on, so its a little slower

Precise clicking is the key here, nothing else can really be done. it's pretty easy to mess it up and lose the q reset, trust me, I've done that plenty of times.
She just takes practice. But boy the power spike she gets with the trinity.

^this. I smart cast all abilities on all champions. I love smartcast on irelia. Just takes practice to land your abilities. You get used to how much damage q does on irelia, so with some practice you will get those resets like a pro!
